Knife can beat gun at close ranges (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tueller_Drill) but it must have took some fucking bollocks to fight back. Good skills, that man.

Cecil Coley will not face any charges. Justice and common sense. Who would have thought it .

Good news. A blow for freedom for everyone who feels like they might need to stab a chav one day.

Crikey. And yet another makes the increasingly elementary error of trying to rob someone in their home in Manchester. Someone tell them that you are not safe doing that in Manc-land.

I do wish they would not say the people in these cases are under arrest on suspected murder charges. I am sure they could just say they are helping police in their investigations related to the death. It just seems wrong to call such a thing murder assuming it does turn out to be what it appears to be.

Bramhall is absolutely full of the sort of wanker who would kill for a new Range Rover if they thought they could get away with it anyway, so breaking into one of their homes and demanding the keys is tantamount to suicide. As seen here.

so, you're saying this burglar chose an area known for dodgy residents? Talk about not doing your homework. Double-fail!

I once met a guy who robbed drug dealers (his name was not Omar :-) ), he did it for shits and giggles as much as for the money.

My books, contests, reviews and author interviews on my blog

They chose an area where having around 100K of vehicles on your drive is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD, at a time when it's open season on burglars. I'm surprised the other one escaped tbh.

No one should die over this, but the cunt got stabbed by his own knife. He brought a knife to the place! No sympathy whatsoever.

And another person that protected himself after an attempt to rob him in his own home, gets off. Good news. But the fact remains, rob a house in Manchester and you are taking your life in your hands.

It is understood that a second call (to 999) was made by one of the suspected burglars.
I'd love to hear that call.

I was burgled on Thursday morning, and they have my house keys. I slept with a knife under my pillow until I had burglar bars put in.

Done. Just took a couple of nights. Feeling much safer now. Don't think they're coming back but not taking any chances.

Don't you have a big Rottweiler? I thought it was compulsory out there.

You should give your cats AIDS. That way if they scratch the burglars the burglars will then have AIDS also. Though they wouldn't know that till much later. And it means you'd have to have AIDS cats sitting round your house all day. Probably better to just buy a gun now I've thought it through.

I think in this case we'll see the homeowners getting a serious bollocking. Shooting a burglar requires some preparation including loading the gun (legally they cannot be kept loaded), not quite the same as quickly reacting defensively with the nearest available object, whether a kitchen drawer knife or baseball bat.

Although the burglars get what they deserve. Not sure how I'd react if someone entered my home, but I'm pretty sure I'd freak out.

Burglars often do return. They wait a month or two for you to replace everything and then steal the new stuff. They already know their way around your place so it's easy. I'm not telling you this to scare the shit out of you, just to advise you to ensure your home is as secure as possible.

Personally, I'd want to move. But then are you legally obliged to inform prospective sellers about the break-in?

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.
