I thought there was a thread for this but I couldn't find one, so hopefully this isn't a duplicate.

    Here's an interesting one:

    Indie Game: The Movie
    Trailer

    Excellent idea, Mr-Brett

I currently have an invested interest in Children of Liberty

    And Tweetland looks interesting

I know both of these games already have their target sponsorship but it doesn't hurt to raise awareness about the projects :)

I've backed a number of projects on Kickstarter:

    Double Fine Adventure
    Osombie (feature film)
The Last Cause - feature film
No Time To Explain indie game
    Minecraft: The Story of Mojang

    And one on Crowdfunder:

Check this one for the Order of the Stick webcomic.

This is just to reprint the earlier hardback collections of freely available online strips! I also like the graphs depicting the rise of contributions :D

    Target: $57,750
    Current amount: $604,074
    Days left: 10

Phenomonal - this was the #5 ever on Kickstarter before the Double Fine one started.

The day charity died - NEVER FORGET

(the mic was OK in the end)

The cynic in me can't help but think that if DoubleFine made games people liked they wouldn't have to go to Kickstarter.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

How does the cynic in you feel about the two million they now have to develop with?

    Awesome theft-resistant bike light

heh, they've done brilliantly since I first saw this last week, well over target. That means back lights will be coming soon then \o/

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Similar thing is Pledge Music - help bands to release and promote albums independently - for example, I recently helped a local band The Destroyers (who are ace) to produce their difficult second album

Matter, it'd seem a bit wrong to try and sum it up in short sentence so I'll quote them:
The web is the future of journalism, but let's be honest: the future isn’t living up to expectations. Newspapers and magazines have cut back on in-depth reporting. Gossip sites have proliferated. The web has become a byword for fast and cheap. Why isn’t it synonymous with fearless, investigative and enthralling writing?

    We think it can be.

We’ve developed a way to support independent, global, in-depth reporting about science and technology, two subjects that are close to our hearts. We’re going to use it to build MATTER, the new home for the best journalism about the future. And we need you to help us make it happen.
The Idle Thumbs Podcast is returning, if you're not familiar with it already then you've done yourself a dis-service, it is excellent and clearly other people think so since it's almost tripled it's target after only a few days.

Well I've thrown my money into the Wasteland 2 project as I really want it to happen, I can't see this getting its funding though.

    Oh dear.

    This space left intentionally blank.

So, Matter is about to complete funding. If you want in, jump NOW. I can't tell you when it ends as the ending time is in some sort of American, but I believe it's today. Early morning Saturdayers, do your stuff!

Well, you certainly don't get in for free... that's kind of how it works, where you pay to become a backer. There's no guarantee that they won't sell whatever you opt for cheaper in the future, just the knowledge that you chose to provide the backing that got something cool off the ground.

Yeah, I've been lucky that everything I've backed so far has delivered in the end... but given that's only one project and I've got five or so to come in the next year or so... we'll see.

Just because one project fails, it's usually less than a friday night out for anyone if one does go pop. Doesn't mean the whole thing's fucked.

Takedown - Christian Allen's Kickstarter FPS was relaunched today with some very cool concept art and what promises to be a high-quality video due to feature on the Kickstarter page imminently. There has been nothing else like this project in the videogame market since Swat 4, so it deserves to be a success. Fingers crossed.

I've also supported the Takedown Kickstarter, Not been a good CQB tactical game since SWAT 4 so I'm hoping it hits its target.

    And...

Heroes of Forevia a game inspired by arcade action rpgs like Gauntlet Legends.
