Right, you've read the subject heading. I'm not looking for any trolls, and I already own a PS3 and the girlfriend has a Wii. Is a 360 worth adding to the collection?

    Straw pole fellas.

The main temptation is for games like Rez HD and all the Arcade games on the beast. I enjoy Playstation online, but Live does seem to be a more active environment.

I was in your position and I bought one basically because I was missing out on online gaming sessions.

XBLA is also a step above psn if you like that sort of thing.

If you just want to play full games and you don't have loads of mates on live I would say don't bother, your not really missing our on much that you can't already get IMO

I also do a video games style show online, and I feel it would be more balanced if we featured more games from the 360 catalogue as well as the PS3 and Wii.

That's gutting man. Trade in prices are a pain in the arse, especially when they represent the easiest way to pick up new consoles/games.

i asked this question when i joined EG 3yrs ago, and ended up getting a 360. but if i had the same decision to make now, i wouldn't bother tbh. if there are games you want to play and you already have RL friends who have a 360, go for it. the one plus (atm) is party chat. a good way of organising multiplayer games.

Tbf Billy £90 for a console that you don't even use and could die at any minute isn't that bad. It's still £90 more than it's worth stuck in your house gathering dust!

I have both, best thing about 360 is the online gaming.

And it's getting SKYPE which can only be good seeing as it's now out the window for ps3. Still think it should hve gone there, at least ps3 could have party chat that way.

Go for it dude, can get te 250gig for 150 at the mo.

Basically if you like the exclusives yes, if not no.

    Nothing else to it really.

I'd say yes, been playing 360 for about 4 years and I tend to think of it as my primary console.

To be honest the exclusives don't set my world on fire (although I do enjoy them) but what's great is a comfy, ergonomic pad, easily the best game organising and party chat system on any console and finally the ridiculous amount of high quality Live Arcade games.

Shadow Complex and Geometry Wars 2 spring to mind, not to mention the odd gem on the indie channel, such as Laser Cat from our very own the_dudefather!

Most of the games are better on the 360 anyway. Unless there's FMV involved like FF.

As a side note, played LBP2 and KZ3 earlier this year with a couple friends on PSN and the amount of faffing and hassle just getting into a game together was atrocious.

I really think they should straight up copy the XBL party system and be done with it, it just makes so much more sense! There's been many a time on the 360 where I've chatted with mates while we've been playing different games, or they've been watching TV or what have you, to me it's a major advantage.

An Xbox 360 is worth owning for the XBLA games alone.
