Registered 9 years agoDid a standard install, laptop still slow as buggery. Wiped the drive and did a clean install and it's like a brand new machine \o/ -
Still think it's odd that there isn't a mini tutorial to welcome you to your new OS, is all. -

Registered 8 years agoAnyone else noticed it seems to have deleted folders in Mail? I've lost my folder with all my email invoices in. And it won't let me go back in time via Time Machine. gah. -

Registered 8 years agoI doubt that's got anything to do with it, it's a folder I've created on my Mac in mail. Mountain Lion updated Mail and it's gone AWOL.

I always do it manually, time machine recovers your account, settings and everything installed, which sort of defeats the idea of a clean install.

@CrispyXUK Thanks, makes sense - but can I copy files over manually from the time machine, or do I need to make an extra, manual backup? And don't I lose photo libraries and stuff like that in the process? I don't mean the phoos themselves, but the gf's photo editing software (Capture NX) only stores changes to pictues. Somewhere. :-/
