This month's newly redesigned EDGE magazine gave the following scores:

    La Noire - 8
    Infamous 2 - 6
    Child of Eden - 8
    Brink - 6
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - 6
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - 8
    Dirt 3 - 9
    Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury - 8
Dead or Alive: Dimensions - 7

    Front cover - Hitman: Absolution.

This month's 'Making of' is Medal of Honour.

The new look is really nice, smaller and thicker than the old EDGE. Some reviews carry a new 'postscript' section where they talk to the developers about the game in question. Some new types of feature as well but couldn't see any sign of the old 'Time Extend' this month.

Heh - I was just searching around the internets to see if these were out yet. :-)

Interested to see what this looks like when I get home. Does Stephen Poole still have a column? He was missing from the line-up on the Edge web site (along with N'Gai Croal) so I thought he'd been canned. But when I tweeted about it yesterday, he tweeted back that it was 'news to him'. :-D

I see that EDGE's love affair with WRPGs is still going strong.

Yep, it was the 360 version that they tested. They did say though that if you want to rack up some serious high scores you would need to revert back to the controller though.

That's about three more points than it deserves.

Both those scores are just wrong. I know it's some guys opinion but those scores are just wrong.

EDGE really fuck me off with their hipster-gamer shite.

I share that opinion on The Witcher 2. It's an alright game, not that great. There you go!

They're obviously not obscure or Japanese enough for Edge! ;)

I stopped paying attention to their scores months ago as they're totally out of sync with my own tastes. When that happens then what is the point in reading a magazine. With Edge you don't even know who wrote the review, only that they've possibly just graduated from a University Degree in English and want to use every big word they can cram into a review. Pretentious is a word I'd use to sum up Edge's reviews, it was why I haven't bought the magazine in years.

PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PC (Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB, 4 GB EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 SC, Windows 8.1 Pro), iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display.

Well, given your ridiculously, completely-at-odds-with-everyone-else's impressions of the Duke Nukem Forever demo over in that thread (you said you'd give it a 9/10) - I'd say that maybe the problem lies with your taste in games, rather than Edge's.

Edge mark down heavily if there's too much AA.

Witcher review is here for those who care. Playing as white-haired old man in leather trousers sucks, apparently.

Playing as white-haired old man in leather trousers in a game with a shit combat system and a dull opening 8 hours does kinda suck, though - dontcha think?

    Infamous 2 - 6

I'll have to read that review, it's puzzling me somewhat. From the demo at least, inFamous 2 is an improvement on the original in practically every aspect, and it gets a lower score.

Not just that, in terms of graphics and frame rate it puts the multi-format PS3 open-world efforts from Ubisoft and Rock Star to shame.

Dunno, haven't played it yet. :) Review makes him sound like Peter Stringfellow though..
