The Iwata unboxing is utter class, if it were MS there would be obnoxious whooping, hollering, Yee-haing and it would be utterly cringeworthy.
Not with Iwata, not with Nintendo.

There's life in the old dog yet ;-)

That'll certainly please that guy who puts his dick in the hole.

Was that you, Crispy? I forget these things.

Unless they announce a secret port at the back of the WiiU shaped like Iwata's mouth I'm probably going to hold off till after Christmas. My stupid brain's finally cottoned on that console launches are invariably horrible affairs.

I suspect MH3 will tempt me into the fold around March.

Nah, it would reach the other side.

Got a copy of Tatsunoko vs Capcom this morning before they stopped printing it. Was a bit gutted with how much I had to pay for a new wiimote plus + nunchuck and battery pack though. Came to about 75 quid :/

35 for the remote, 15 for the nunchuck and 20 for the battery pack + shipping. A bit harsh when all you want is a functioning controller.

I thought it was funny how Iwata stole all the gaming websites thunder with the unboxing. Had to laugh at the gloves too xD Smooth operator.

That is a bit harsh given you can get all 3 brand new for a little over 50 and a little under if you exclude the battery pack. Quite how you've managed to find that for a score is somewhat baffling.

That is brand new. Exactly 50 quid for the 2-part controller itself. And the battery pack is 20. I guess that's the price you pay. I hate buying second hand controllers and finding something wrong with them. 50 quid for a game controller new seems harsh to me though. Especially considering I literally have to get proper battery support for it, unlike the competition.

The remote + nunchuck is right at about 50. A battery pack should be less than a fiver though. E.g. remote + pack is 38.99 here.

I've still got the old motion plus 'block' that you have to attach to regular Wii remotes. What a pain in the butt.

Yeah I probably should have considered that Skyward Sword special edition, considering how much I ended up paying. Don't have enough points on the stars to get the gold nun-chuck either (if they still even do that). Speaking of stars I got shafted out of about 7k's worth the other year. Didn't realise there was a fort-annually (I think) expiration.

There's a gold classic controller in my local CEX. Didn't know they did those.

"Wii U will slightly outsell its predecessor in its first three months and go on to shift more than 50 million units by the end of 2016, a UK based analyst firm has suggested."

Analysts Shmalenysts. IHS Screen Digest doesn't immediately ring any alarm bills, but judging by a quick google they alternate between predicting blatently obvious stuff, or if the answer isn't obvious, just making up some random shit. Like most analysys then.

I think it'll have a great first couple of months then stagnate for a while until a price drop sometime mid next year. Or what happened to the 3DS.

How much do I get paid?

The 3DS launch started to falter a couple of weeks after launch, not a couple of months IIRC. But the Wii U has Christmas to help bolster any sales fall off I guess.

Probably the same analysts who predicted the PS3 would outsell everything else by 100m.

I stand by my prediction. China's gonna take to the PS3 like Deckard to Mock the Week! :)

The 3ds was too expensive at launch, and a bit too underpowered to feel truly new. However at a low price it's a very attractive proposition.

I think the WiiU may be a little similar.

No... but still not a great prediction:

Almost everyone last gen had Sony coming back from miles behind to win in the end though. I guess the PS2 ultradomination was hard to ignore.

If not for the 360S and Kinect, the PS3 probably would have come back. Not for the landslide victory that was originally predicted, of course, but I think it would be ahead a few million by now.

Nobody could have predicted MS to have that up their sleeve.

Ninja Gaiden receives a 7.6 score from IGN. Inferior graphics to the Xbox 360 and PS3 version.
