    What exactly is the problem with the PS3 version? You're all making it sound like a horrible secret.

    Hold onto your potatoes, because there's no way to sugarcoat this one - Bayonetta is one of the most dramatic Face-Offs we've ever had to do. On Xbox 360, it is a magnificent game, as our import review testifies. On PS3, it looks like an Xbox 360 exclusive that has been dragged unwilling, kicking and screaming across the divide.

    Don't let only owning a PS3 stop you from playing Bayonetta, I convinced my PS3 and Wii owning mate to buy it (that is to say shoved it in his hand and said "buy that") and he loved it just as much as I (who played it on 360). I think it's only really a problem if you play both versions or if that sort of stuff really bothers you.

    @Raiko101
    The 360 version is the one to get, as it was effectively an exclusive in development and plays to all the 360's strengths.

    There is a demo for both consoles for you to download and try them. You'll probably feel little difference between them in real terms, as the combo timing (input frequency) for games like this (typically)needs to be decoupled from the frame-rate, just meaning you'll experience increased latency between combos from the halved frame-rate of timing your first attack, and see the animation back at half the frame-rate. The AI didn't seem to be any quicker at 60fps iirc.

    Judging by sales and reception of the patched PS3 version in Japan(after the faceoff) it is still highly playable at 30fps (in spite of the incorrect gamma settings on the cut-sequences).

    Sadly this type of game isn't to my tastes, in spite of trying to get into games like this and GoW, DMC, Star wars force unleashed, Castlevania LoTS, Ninja Gaiden. It is good that the game has a new home, but the console needed something more like an Eternal Darkness 2 instead of Bayonetta 2 for me at launch.

    I realised the other day that the Wii U is a tablet with a games console attached. Or at least that's how non-gamers will see it. £300 for a Nintendo games console and a tablet that's a bit like an iPad? Seems like a good deal. And it means you can keep your kids in the sitting room while they play games without them needing the TV.

    I'm interested to see how aggressive the wikipad pricing will be when its released, as something that straddles the 3DS/WiiU/iPad and Vita functionality

    The Wikipad is $499.99 release date the 31st of October in the US. I can't see this being a competitor to the Wii U and the price is in the same ballpark as the iPad.

    The Wii U pad is nothing like an iPad, or, if you insist on it being like an iPad, it's a plasticy iPad with a tiny screen, massive bezel, too many buttons and crappy touchscreen that doesn't work outside your house.

    Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

    It's a large touchscreen device, in a shape not dissimilar to a tablet, on which you'll be able to use apps relating to TV, the Web etc. I think, to the people who want a tablet but a cheapy one, it'll be a consideration.

    And I'm typing this in my iPad.

    Does anyone know if the Assassin's Creed 3 "Freedom Edition" (the one with the statue) will be coming to Wii U at any point? I want AC3 on the Wii U, mainly for the map on the gamepad screen, but I also really like tat.

    I’m not sure; possibly because the Wii U has yet to establish a user base and Assassins Creed 3 is the first AC game to be released on a Nintendo console. Ubisoft may feel that the “Freedom Edition” is more suited to fans of the series on other platforms. The Connor figurine would be perfect for NFC content.

    Surely an opinion is something born of fact and experience, not speculation and prejudice?

    An opinion is whatever the speaker wants it to be unless they start claiming it to be fact. Why so defensive?

    @Sid-Nice

    I get that argument, but I'm still not so sure. Without the controller attachment it is a high-end ultra thin quad core tablet(Vita performance) with a glasses free 3D screen for movie playback(like the 3DS), and running a far more open user friendly OS in Jelly bean compared to iOS making it arguably superior to the iPad in its own right without the adapter.

    It will run old emulators like any Android device, has official endorsement from Sony in both Gaikia, Sony Mobile suite(like Vita)

    It has a twin stick controller addon, with shoulder buttons and Playstation facebuttons (from what I can see in the new design, Vita like) making Gaikia's lineup direct competition to 3rd party game offering on the WiiU, but like the Vita it can be taken with you anywhere when you travel, or even other rooms.

    I'll be quite surprised if the wikipad at a better price point doesn't heavily disrupt the market and grab decent market share. Or at least force changes to the flaws in each of those products currently, such as the Vita's web browsing.

    Edit:
    Scratch the part about glasses free 3D I read on the wikipedia a while back, I think that feature has been dropped.

    I've pre-ordered one and like many other people who have pre-ordered it, not seen it or played it.

    I guess I'm just as bad as you, but from the opposite side of the argument. I'm very excited by what I'm reading on here.

    The Wikipad looks like a bad joke so has no chance of surviving, no mind disrupting the market! :/
