    Fair enough, didn't realise that.
I still doubt it means very much though.

It almost certainly means nothing. Heck, if you look at the same page from April 2013:

    15th April 2013

It was the same tag. In fact let's go back another year:

    18th April 2012

Still there. It's referring to the Wii U and they've just left the tag in. There you go, we solved it :)

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

FWIW (and it might pan out to nothing at all), the online gaming news sites are suggesting that a new Zelda will be revealed at E3.

Guys and Girls - I am really considering getting a 2nd hand 32gb from GAME, my kids are driving me mad for Mario Kart 8 and I am keen on Windwalker.
    Should I do it???

There are almost certainly a half dozen games that you'll play on the system as is, with a possible 2 or 3 in the future (as it stands). If you're happy with that, then go for it. I dont regret it at all. I use it for my Wii Games and the handful of Wii U games.

Thanks for the advice - how easy it it to flip into Wii mode. Also the games I have on my existing Virtual Arcade , can I port them across. Final question - can I use my Wii controllers on the Wii U?

Very easy, from main menu or put Wii disc in when booting
Also the games I have on my existing Virtual Arcade , can I port them across.
Yes but you need both machines together to do it
Final question - can I use my Wii controllers on the Wii U?
    Yes
    See answers above.
Be aware that if you register MK8 with Club Nintendo you can get one of 10 games free, including Wind Waker HD.

Yeah, I cannot believe that deal. I'm torn between picking up Wind Waker HD and The Wonderful 101. I own all the others, with the exception of Sonic Lost World and The Winter Olympics, but i'm in no hurry to pick those up.

    Heh.

... the number one deal on Hot UK Deals today is the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle for 199.

Always knew this was the 'magic price' with the right game!

    : )

The free digital game promotion is a stroke of genius from Nintendo too ... Pikmin 3 for me, seeing as I already own The Wind Waker HD.

@Armoured_Bear I have the original on my game shelf, but I never got around to buying a GameCube memory card, and so never played it.

I've just realised that the free game is a digital download. I wonder which of the two is smallest. I could always buy a physical copy of the other at some point in the future.

Well it's worked for me too. The wiiu wasn't on my radar at all beforehand but I was partially thinking about introducing my kids to the world of Mario by some means so have taken the plunge.

I see a comment above regarding porting virtual console stuff over. So if I sold my wii many years ago was my virtual console tied to that machine? I guess I won't be able to just log in a download old games ( not that I can remember what I had)

I must admit a that 199 bundle is the first time I've come close to a twitch when it comes to the Wii U.

But I don't have the money right now, so tough luck Nintendo I guess.

    Cheers for that.

Another question, what pads should I be looking at for general use, motion plus? Do I really need nunchuck ( or whatever they're called)
I think I've got a bit of research to do, completely out the Nintendo loop

W101 is far bigger in size, about 11GB compared to 2GB for WW.

@PatrickEwing Motion Plus is the way to go for Wii U games. Its the standard. All Wii U games support it. Not all Wii U games support the older Wii remotes, however.

As for the nun-chuck, it isn't required as often as a Motion plus Wii remote, but is a requirement for particular games, both Wii and Wii U. It's really just a case of checking the back of game boxes, if you can. Personally, I recommend picking one up, just to be safe.

The Pro Controller is supported by most Wii U games, but is not compatible with Wii games. It exists to provide an alternative to the Gamepad, but isn't always an alternative to motion control. Again, its worth checking out which games support it. Many do, but games built around motion support, such as Wii Sports Club and Nintendo Land, do not use it.

I hope that helps, somewhat. If you're unsure about controller support for particular games, i'm sure folk here will happily help. Its not as confusing as you think. You'll mostly use the Gamepad when paying alone, whilst Wii remotes will give you multiplayer options.

    No problem mate.
With you never having played WW, it's a must anyway, it's brilliant and sooooo gorgeous.
I'd give the W101 demo many tried before buying, seems bit of a marmite game, wasn't fr me but many utterly adore it.

I just got Pikmin 3, and I was going between it and WWHD. I hope Pikmin 3 is as good as some of the reviewers feel it is. Many feel it's the best game for Wii U.

@robo-Nabster Pikmin 3 is my favourite Wii U game, so far. It's not the most difficult game out there, but it's a very enjoyable experience. One of those games you're sad to see end.

I strongly recommend playing it with the Wii remote and nun-chuck. It's the easiest and best way to play the game.
