It was on Amazon, offer's ended now.

Heh - to be fair the two multi-format games I've gone for (Rayman and Deus Ex) are strongest on the Wii U anyway, so it's not like I've gone for poor games. Plus the off-TV play is really appealing to me.

They're just really there to tide me over, and get used to the console, until I get Mario 3D World. :)

    Haha, it's a a disease, i's been going around a lot lately!

From the 6(!) I got none is the top pick (Mario) and a couple weren't even a consideration originally; Wii Party U (got it for the remote) and Injustice (was on sale a the same time, God knows why, and why Wii U version at that!).

But I got all these plus the Zelda book and GTA Liberty City stories, and 27 postage, for less than the cost of a PS4 so I guess not bad!

Was properly enjoying Mario 3D World last night after picking up a Wii U the night before. A fantastically joyful game. So many little things made me smile, it's ram-packed full of great throwaway moments.

The only thing that stopped me playing was the atrocious battery life of the Gamepad. I turned the brightness down and power saving on but it still didn't last me a full gaming session.

I normally don't get a chance to play for longer than a couple if hours so I guess it won't be a massive issues for me most of the time but it is still very concerning.

Has anyone tried the larger Gamepad battery? Does it give you much longer play time?

I have the new battery and haven't came close to running it down to see how long it lasts.
Get a Wii U Pro Controller, superb for many games with a bonkers battery life of 80 hours or something like that...

Yeah, the Pro Controller has a ridiculous life span. I've only had it on charge 3 times. In 60+ hours Splinter Cell, it only needed recharging once, and that wasn't on a full battery.

Such a great piece of kit; I'd even go far as to saying it's Nintendo's best controller since the SNES. Ironically enough it has the least Nintendo design of them all but the feel, shape, quality of the buttons etc is flawless.

Yeah for the GP you really have to invest in that new official battery that came out; doesn't quite do double the span but close enough.

Is it possible to enter the old Wii Shop in Wii mode, in order to redeem points, buy games etc.? Or will I have to spend all my Wii points before I transfer everything over to the Wii U?

You should still be okay to pop into Wii Mode and buy stuff there. That's what I've read at least. Can't speak from experience as I've kept my Wii.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

In case anyone wants a Pro Controller. I just found in Currys/PC World they are selling off Wii U stuff.

Is marked as 40 down to 35 but actually go threw the till at 27 this is in Swindon but probably applies nationally. Seems the cheapest new genuine price.

Oh and just bought ZombiU, think I have every WiiU exclusive now of note :)

Known as 'Sharzam' in 98.5% of games

    Excellent, cheers.

Only problem is my Wii is soft-modded, not sure if that'll cause a problem for the transfer. Might have to find out how to safely update it to the latest firmware.

Are there any ways to work around region locking on this? For Wii or WiiU games.

    Wii U Games - No.
Wii - Not sure if the old home-brew exploits still work but I would guess not.

Is there anything in particular that you wanted to play that you can't because of region locking? It's not the 90's anymore.

The Gamepad will only last around 3 hours in one sitting, depending on whether or not you're using motion control as well. You can plug and play, which works fine for the most part.

I'd recommend making good use of the charge cradle though. Set it up near your sofa and make sure you put the Gamepad on it every time you finish using it. It'll make sure you're always fully charged when you next play.

@CompetitiveDad 'Finished' it this morning - sublime. On to gold flagging and getting all the stars now.

Up at 7:30am Saturday and Sunday just like the Megadrive days when I was little. I'm 30 and getting married next May. Make of that what you will.

Got a few peeps from on here already but if the rest of you fancy it add me, my NNID is Willum. Is there a separate thread somewhere for friend codes?
