It's a few quid too much for my liking too. But in this case, I think the combined value of convienience and complete relinquishment of AA's is worth it.

For those that were talking about Wii Fit U, the solus Fit Meter is on the Nintendo Store at £19.99.

EDIT: Ridiculously, and in true half-assed Nintendo style, all pre-orders have to be paid for instantly. They can fuck right off until it's released.

Also, make sure you get your cheap balance board quick - wii fit u + balance board + fit meter is £80.

Am I reading the news for this correctly, in that you just need the fit meter and you get the full wii fit u game for free?

Well if it's any comfort the internet gubbins on Mario Kart 7 on 3DS are brilliant. In terms of netcode and general interface it works perfectly.

So if they managed it with 3DS MK, then wiiu shouldn't be a problem

Known as 'Sharzam' in 98.5% of games

AFAIK, and without checking, you need to have used the demo with a meter and a balance board to get the software for free at the end of the trial month. It needs to be both items.

My used Wii Fit board/game should be arriving today, disinfectant at the ready!

Just ordered a Wii U 'for my son'.
Decent bundle on Amazon, premium lego city pack + lego batman 2 for £250. Pretty decent price I thought.

@TheBear Seems a fair deal to me.  You might be tempted to have a go 'yourself'.  Have seen more console buying action in here this past few weeks than during the whole of the year so far.

Actually even better, it's 245. Yeah, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it, been missing my Nintendo fix.

I wonder if the loading times of Lego City Undercover are reduced with the game installed on the 32GB memory.

From what I understand, it's a physical copy of the game rather than  installed that comes with the bundle.

Some chap on Nintendo Life (a very biased place, remember!) says the load times difference is virtually non-existence and are very much the same, whether you play on the disc or of off the hard drive.

    ... odd, I know.

That wii fit meter seems to be the only decent priced thing on there.

£20 for the meter with a free copy of Wii Fit on download seems a pretty good deal. Especially as the pack with the game on disc is about £50.

Is there somewhere that tells you the download size of the games from the e-store?

    @midi82

I will definitely be ordering the meter from the Nintendo store, just not until one/two days before release. I resent ordering from stores that charge you for items that you won't receive for a length of time afterwards.

As I already have a cheap, disease ridden balance board it seemed rude not to order the fit meter and then take advantage of the free Wii fit U.

Thought Nintendo had done away with the basic model? 2 of these 3 new bundles are the basic. No price info unfortunately:

I was sure there was but I just checked using Just Dance as my test and I couldn't see anything.

I must have been thinking of 3ds. Weird.

Is this the moment when squadrons of Wii Us take off from those shelves, bomb the supermarket checkouts and fly off to achieve air superiority in the skies of consoletania?

    no

When I get divorced, I am seriously considering having pinky put up as a reason as every day he has a new 'bargain'

Well him and video games in general

Saw that Just Dance basic model pack on the Nintendo store. Basic console, 1 remote, Just Dance and Nintendo Land for £249.

Would prefer to see that basic model sold cheaply rather than tat added on top.
