    Wii fit and balance board arrived.  £6 delivered.  Probably fair to say the price of these will shoot up when wii fit u gets released so thought I would grab one while it was so cheap.

    Let my daughter beat me up in sword fighting game on wii sports resort.  She took great delight in telling her mom she knocked dad into the pool of water.  No Cbeebies for her tomorrow.

    Sonic racing transformed does a great big shit all over the ps3 version, frame rate wise and it doesnt tear, thank god because the PS3 version makes you want to rip your eyes out.  I ditched the ps3 version for the PC one and the Wii U is a great half way house.  Highly recommended as I adore the game anyway.  Really tough in single player too on the harder levels.  14.99 second hand in my current favourite shithole, GAME but its a tenner if you can find it in CEX.

    @electrolite NSMBU starts off nice and easy and safe.  Give it an hour or two for the brilliantly evil level designers to start toughening things up and I will be surprised if you dont really start to appreciate and enjoy it.

    How or where did you get it so cheap?

    Thankfully I acquired a Balance Board (with leaking batteries) from a relative who hadn't used it for years. I do hope some retailers actually sell the Wii Meter as Amazon only have the Balance Board Bundle and the Wii Meter plus game bundle.

    @electrolite NSMBU is remarkable IMO, in that it's the best 2D platformer since SMW. It's head and shoulders above the other fairly average NSMB games, and gameplay wise on a whole other level to Rayman.

    Glad to hear about NSMBU. Looking forward to it. I've just got a couple more Special levels on SM3DL which I want to do before I start on the WiiU game.

    Has anyone downloaded Wii Karaoke U? I downloaded it and my daughter used up the free 1 hour trial. The game worked fine with the USB SingStar microphones; there was 1400 songs to select from, all original artists. The pricing is rather high with £1.79 per hour or £4.79 for 24 hours and £14.49 (I think) per month.

    In reality Karaoke games only get used at Christmas and special occasions so the 24 hour package would save purchasing songs that only ever get sung once. Overall the game isn't too bad; there was a Hyde Park type stage and an X-Factor style studio and you have the option to create your own set.

    I thought that the free 1 hour trial would be linked to the console; yet when I was pissing about with it tonight using my wife’s Mii, I was prompted “Start your free 1 hour trial” I’m not a big karaoke fan so I couldn’t be arsed to see if multiple users can score for a free trial.

    It gives you the option. The missus and I were playing it on Friday night and had a blast. Plenty of Springsteen :)

    I've also gotten myself a £6 balance board with Wii Fit. Lord knows what condition it'll turn up in going by GAME's track record but by only going for the Fit Meter (which I can't find on it's own anywhere) and buying a cheap board now you really can save a hell of a lot of money.

    I think GAME now advertise their Wii hardware as 'natural yellow' rather than white. Just thing of all the sweaty feet that will have left a mark on your balance boards. I wonder if they were ever cleaned...

    Not just feet.

    Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

    Hopefully the Fit Meter will start to be listed in online stores soon. I've seen it referred to as being $20 on American oriented gaming sites. You'd have to think that it's going to be available separately given that Iwata specifically referred to it during Nintendo Direct. Be interesting to see how much I move about during a normal day, given that the latest health research points to sitting down (regardless of other exercise) as being bad for you.

    @mrpon ugh, behave.

    Mine isn't too bad - I mean, let's face it, these things were used for a couple of weeks then stored away never to see the light of day again.

    My LE Wind Waker HD has arrived at last from LAME - as I already have it now I was wondering if I should get my refund or store it in the attic to sell on a rainy day. Do you reckon this LE going to go up in price?

    @Pinky_Floyd

    Maybe it'll be worth something in 40 or 50 years. I recall reading a feature in Game magazine about old games. Rare games didn't seem to greatly increase in value. Compound interest on cash in the bank is probably more effective.

    £239 for the Wind Waker bundle seems pretty decent. So if the game would normally cost you £35-40 (physical copy) then you are getting the snazzy LE gamepad and console for around £200 - which is what price the premium ought to be anyway and represents good value:

    Well, you do seem to keep buying tons of controllers and games. It all adds up, 20 quid here and there, for this and that. I've spent about £120 this month on WW, Rayman, Batman, Need for Speed and the new Pokemon game.

    True, but there looks to be at least a couple of hundred pounds of good games coming out for Wii U and 3ds soon. You never really save money with gaming, you just spend it on other games later down the line or 'amazing bargains' that you just have to buy before they disappear forever.

    The Zelda bundle that you posted above is definitely good value. With 3d Land approaching, now is a great time to get a Wii U. For all its perceived faults it is simply a super fun console.

    True. Taking GTA5 to CEX later for they are giving £38 trade or £35 cash. Might pick up Smash Bros Brawl or something, think the kids might like it.

    Tatsunoko v Capcom is good too. Well worth £10. I think your kids will like pretty much any first party game. Kirby's Epic Yarn is good for kids. Actually, it's fun for adults too. Getting the top medal on each level is no walk in the park. Decent on co-op too for younger kids. Also the Lego Harry Potter games are a lot of fun.

    Yes there are lots of options; ranging from artist, background, echo etc. My daughter was in control of the Gamepad but from what I gather; you can actually create a "Play list" before subscribing to the £1.79, £4.79 fee. Also there's the Wii U wireless (rechargeable) microphone launching soon in Japan; so Wii Karaoke U could be a Christmas hit.
