    It's a usual firmware update, not sure what folk were expecting (apart from unified Nintendo accounts which would be long overdue).

    Playing wii games on the gamepad gave me a little chuckle, how can that even work with pointy pointy games? Having said that, I bet the downscaling would make the games look better than ever heheh.
    Or the no scaling ;)

    If you set your John Wu to 480p you could play Mario Galaxy in its native resolution without being scaled.

    I bet HOTD is great fun on the Gamepad. You could play it with your left arm extended with gamepad, and your right hand arched back, like a bow and arrow.

    Honestly, if you are going to persist in being an annoying dickhead, at least write his fucking name properly.

    He totally called it

    No. The misspelling is the fun part.

    Aye right enough, no scaling involved, just a smaller image which may still help it a bit.

    Nothing quite like riling some nerds by misspelling a name :D

    If that's what you consider fun, I think you may need to kill yourself.

    My look back at one of the best sequels ever: Uncharted 2.

    If there was one thing I was expecting from this update, it was the merging of the 'Friends List' and Miiverse apps. Seeing what your friends are up to shouldn't require its own button. Not unless you're going to be able to sort out party chat or private messaging, which they haven't.

    Another thing, has anyone tried using the Gamepad for any games that support the classic controller? Xenoblade on the Gamepad would be chuffing awesome!

    Hahahahah just tried out Skyward Sword on the gamepad and it works awesomely. Game looks even better, obviously. Now I can keep playing this when everyone is hogging my plasma. Genius.

    Some Pikmin 3 dlc on the shop along with one free mission I think.

    Firmware has speeded things up a little, especially accessing friends from the Home menu.

    Do you still use the wiimote + nunchuck? Just point it at the gamepad?

    @Hikerholic I know, was a wee joke, good attention to detail tho!

    The recent direct has pretty much killed my interest in Nintendo sadly. Just seems like Iwata and his team have lost the plot really. The handhelds are good, but the console; meh.

    @SG59

    Im completely the opposite here! Knew nothing about winter Olympics game. More motion control with online mp. Bring it on.

    @Gregolution Not a huge fan of motion controls. Don't feel they add anything.

    @rumblesushi

    I'm new here, still trying to get the handle on forum humour and dull fuckery. Don't worry, I'll get there.

    Please understand, Sonic Winter Olympics 2013 has been delayed until Summer 2014.

    Hope you'll be sticking around in Nintendo threads to constantly let us know. You will fit right in.

    @SG59 Sure they do. I'd never have played virtual bowling if I had to use timed button presses. Wii Sports golf was great fun with motion control too. All that was lacking was a decent number of holes and courses. Mario Kart Wii was more intense with motion control, too. At least I thought so.

    It doesn't add a lot to many kinds of game though. It's nice to have the option with some games, as long as they're well thought out.
