Seems like a good enough time to point out Rayman legends is 20.99 at Amazon:

I would recommend it to anyone for that price, bargain!!!

Anyway I agree both games are fantastic, though personally I prefer Mario bros u to Rayman (simply because the controls are tighter and more precise)

2 weeks until wind waker :)

For a second then I thought the Wii U was only 25. Would fly off the shelves surely.

Nah. You know what people are like. "I'll buy it when it's less than 200", which then becomes "I'll buy it when it's less than 150", which then becomes "I'll buy it when there's some good games for it", which then becomes "I'll buy it when it's less than 50".

Edit - Are posts disappearing for anybody else?

Which then becomes "I'll wait for the next console"

Eurogamer and every other serious critic would disagree. I absolutely love Mario and always have but the 2d series has been resting on it's laurels since the first NSMB on DS years ago. That was a game that brought nothing 'new' to the table then and subsequent versions just mixed up the formula a little - even borrowing the same graphics and music.

RL by contrast is bursting with new ideas, a beautiful art style and genuine innovation.
Have you actually played Mario U?

You'll get no argument from me regarding any of the other games in the NSMB series, the DS and Wii versions were 7/10 type games in my eyes. Nowhere near as good as SMW or SMB3. Felt like Nintendo going through the motions. Solid, but hum drum.

The U version is much, much better, it shouldn't have even been called the same name. It's the best 2D Mario since SMW, and in another league to RL.

NSMBU is, by far, the best in the New series. After NSMB2 I wasn't expecting much, but it's clearly had a lot of thought put into it.

I much prefer Legends to nsmbu. The new mario u is good and certainly has more precise controls but im tired of the same old recycled levels. Was a bit boring playing through it.

Legends ive enjoyed every single part of it. Great fun, level design is far better and overall its just a better package with better multi player and daily/weekly chalkenges.

Nsmbu is good but the series is getting stale for me. i I love mario games as well.

@addyb you see the irony of talking about recycled levels where a good portion of levels in RL are actually levels from the last game :)

Still a good game but still can't get any more recycled then that

@Grax Those were clearly limited to the "Back to Origins" section, though. Whereas in NSMBU you keep thinking "Oh, its a Boo house again..." or "Oh, its a castle again..." or "Oh, I'm fighting the Bowser Kids again..."

Legends just felt so much fresher to me, and I played Origins much more recently than I played NSMBW. The one time I thought it was about to be a rehash, the very start of 20,000 Lums Under The Sea, was a complete fake-out and turned out to be a cross between James Bond and Jules Vernes!

@not_themilkybarkid I am struggling to believe you just likened a Rayman legends level to Jules Verne or James Bond. A bit over the top.

If you take the setting of a level and don't appreciate the changes made beyond oh it's got boos in it, I think you are missing the point. The levels may have similar settings but they are always different (granted the boss battles ended up being the same but I would rather those boss battles then having to re do levels I have played to completion before to unlock the hardest difficulty world and find it is the same levels as I have done before but with your view obstructed

As an early adopter of the Wii U, I felt quite let down by Nintendo for the first time in a very long gaming career.

However, pleased to say I'm finally feeling the love for this console.

With Nintyland still going strong, Sports Club coming out soon, Pikmin 3, Zelda Wind Waker and the new Super Mario 3D World coming soon - this console will get a bit of a workout. Quite tempted by NSMBU and Wonderful 101 too. That's a fairly good list of strong titles, happy days.

I was comparing it in terms of setting, music and gameplay themes, not literary merit. ;)

If anyone hasn't picked up the Wonderful 101 yet, do yourself a favour and get it. It truly is one of the greatest games I've ever played. The controls definitely take some time to get used to and can be very frustrating at the start, but as you improve and figure out what to do, it works brilliantly and feels like nothing you've ever done before. I'm also getting a sense of accomplishment from it that no other game has given me in a very long time.

I can not imagine why any Wii U owner wouldn't own this game.

I don't own it because I suck at the demo. I suck so much it's beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. I don't purchase games that I know I suck at and will get stuck on. Fantastic game though. It's still enjoyable if you're terrible, as even a well timed block or capturing and enemy into your team can be satisfying, but I can barely finish the demo so it's enough for me.

That said, once I run out of goes I might be tempted into buying it because I do enjoy playing it. I'll be sticking it on the easiest setting though.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

Please understand, no one buys metroid games, so we are devoting our resources to a Mario Tennis RPG.

Had another go on the Wonderful 101 demo and it grew on me quite a bit. i think it's so completely different from anything else, I didn't really get it the first time. Might be one for the future when I clear some backlog.

Just been on Amazon, and the wind waker bundle seems to be selling less than the more expensive wii u.

Both are nowhere near the top 100 either, with the lego city bundle just about in the top 1000. Not looking great :(
