I'm on Wiii U, 3DS and pc (which is incapable of playing many/most of the latest releases). I used to have a 360 but gave it away due to lack of using it. I'll be looking to get a gaming pc next year to replace my 4 year old gaming laptop. No X1 or PS4 for me.

Yup, I'm Wii U, 3DS and Mac at the moment. Sold my 360 about 3 months ago (regretting it now GTAV is on the horizon), just don't have time for multiple consoles any more and was sick to death of shooters and sports games. The Mac is used chiefly for Football Manager (contradiction!), Xcom and Civ.

In all seriousness, my 360 has had about 2 hours play this year, and that was with Forza Horizon, apart from that it has hardly been switched on.

My PS3 has seen a bit more action with The Last Of Us but again, has hardly been on.

The rest of the big hitters (Bioshock Infinite, Metro Last Light, Tomb Raider) were played on PC. Only one of those I managed to actually finish (BI), though did get quite far in the other two before the general feeling of malaise set in.

The Wii U has saved my gaming summer to be honest. NSMBU took me back to the days I sank into SMW. Lego City Undercover did away with everything I dislike about GTA and made it fun. Pikmin 3 is probably the only strategy game (broadly speaking) I have finished since the original command and conquer. Monster Hunter gave me a few fun hours before I realised I just didn't have the capacity for such a time sink and packed it in. I've jammed in as many hours into the Wonderful 101 demo as some games take to finish.

Even the poor PC isn't on much these days, though SR4 may be a purchase when they drop the silly price tag. I expect the PC to see a lot more action later in the year.

Still have the PS4 on pre-order but undecided whether to go ahead.

Anyway, it's all good and I certainly have a brilliant choice of what to play across the formats.

I haven't watched this. Ubisoft put it up last night, it's an 8 minute video on the wii u splinter cell blacklist showing off some of the gamepad stuff.

Let me know if it looks fun if you watch it:

Looks bloody good to be honest, not sure if ill take the plunge though, no good at stealth games, but ive heard this one is more action orientated.

watched a bit of it, the gamepad seems to address the issues with weapon selection that were hinted at in the review.

Being able to see sticky cams on the pad and move it round to look around is pretty cool.
Still undecided on this. I loved the first 3. I got double agent on Wii and it was just broken, the controls were horrendous. Played conviction on PC, it just wasn't splinter cell, and also my PC was struggling a bit which didn't help.

Wii U stuff doesn't seem all that useful, but the game itself still looks pretty good. Mark and Execute is still present amd correct, so it should be fun. I quite like that one area cleared without alerting or incapacitating enemies got a score bonus for not disturbing them at all, for people that want to be ghosts.

The only thing that really interests me about Blacklist is the Spies vs. Mercs mode.

I might buy it on PC at some point in the future at budget price.

Conviction was as much action as it was stealth, but I enjoyed it. The extra modes were the games' highlight. Only Chaos Theory was better.

I think my biggest problem with conviction was probably a crap PC.

Do most of you fellow Wii U owners have a pro controller? My girlfriend wants one as she'd rather use it than the "big clunky thing". If so, how much do you use it compared to the Gamepad?

She finally had a go on the Gamepad yesterday and said it was a lot more comfortable and lighter than expected, and felt more like a normal controller. Pretty much what I thought when I first tried it.

What is interesting is she hadn't even bothered to try it out until yesterday, just wasn't interested, didn't really like the look of it.

Obviously the lack of software is the main reason, but I wonder if the Gamepad is another significant part of the Wii U's sales. I don't think most people find it that interesting or compelling.

I think they're available at some Asda's in-store still for 20 too if you can find one.

I've hardly used mine - apart from with Super Metroid so I can easily get to the Select button (I'm a lefty). I know you can re-assign buttons for VC games but I've played thru it so many times previously that I'm used to the button setup. I also used it early on with AC3 cos I couldn't get on with using the Gamepad. Turned out it was more the game I couldn't get on with.

I've got one! It came bundled with ZombiU. Personally, i'll stick with the GamePad for single player games, but it's great if you want a more traditional control option for multiplayer games. Games like Sonic Racing, Call of Duty, Super Mario Bros and ZombiU. It's also perfect for SNES VC games when you're playing on the TV.

Saying that, the Wii remote is my preferred choice for NES VC games. It's good to have options!

Personally I think they overdid it with the controller options. You're not going to be able to explain this to 'normal people':
You've got the gamepad (standard), then there's the Wiimote/Wiimote+, with or without nunchuck, the classic controller (which you need a Wiimote for), the classic pro (again, Wiimote needed) and the Wii U Controller Pro... Good luck! :D

Edit: Of course, having said that it's quite nice I can use the controllers I already had with my new console :)

Apparently the wii u pro controller has also been hacked to work with a PC via the toshiba bluetooth stack. Neat, but 360 pad suffices for me.

I agree with that Red_Bool. It is kind of ridiculous. As it happens, I have all of them. I bought the classic controllers to play N64 games and fighters, and I just ordered a pro controller from Amazon.

Apart from my girlfriend wanting one, the main thing that attracts me to the pro is the battery life. 80 hours > 3 hours.

The battery life is shockingly good for the wii u pro controller.

You can play both of the games that support it for hours on end.

I've now got all the options available like some sort of deranged magpie.

Bought the classic pro to play Xenoblade with and complete the set.

I actually like the choice, you don't have to have them all; only the gamepad and wiimote/nunchuk is really essential for wiimote titles.

The pro controller is a lot better than I expected, it's only really missing analogue triggers. The battery life is phenomenal and it's really comfortable.

I think it's nearer 30. Maybe more if you count Virtual Console and eShop. It certainly doesn't lack support, though obviously I'd advise people to check if the games they like support it. Generally multi-format stuff does.
