I'm fairly surprised they haven't ported it to one of the proper consoles to be honest. All the gimmicky second screen stuff wouldn't be too difficult to cut out or put in the pause menu you'd think. Not sure how well it would do on consoles with other games on them though.
Considering ZombiU evolved from a canned Xbox 360 title then it wouldn't be too difficult.

Killer Freaks From Outer Space was originally Attack of the Killer Rabbids from Outer Space a canned Xbox 360 PS3 title. Having to implement the Gamepad Ubisoft decided to slow the action down and the Rabbids evolved into zombies.

The summer update was due in August, if I remember correctly. Not sure what it's meant to be adding though.

It's apparently going to further reduce the load times for the system software for one thing.

I thought they might actually activate that Nintendo TV thing at some point.

I can actually operate my TiVo Box with the Gamepad; by pressing left on the D-pad the menu screen appears and I can play my shows etc. the only drawback is I haven't worked out how to fast-forward.

There will more likely be a System Update to prevent me from using the Gamepad to operate my TiVo Box, until Nintendo decide to launch TVii in Europe.

When you can get a U and Pikmin for less than a pack of gum it'll be well worth it.

Am I allowed to own and enjoy playing my Wii U, but have zero interest in Pikmin? It's not really my sort of thing, so I won't be buying it. Never fancied the first 2 either. Still have to finish ZombiU before I buy any more games, and I'll be lucky if I ever manage that because I suck.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

    !

I'm not sure you're allowed to breathe anymore, DFawkes. Sorry, but it's only right and proper that you hold your breath until you pass out. Zero interest in Pikmin! Unthinkable.

I was fairly sure I was wrong not to want it :p It looks like it has plenty of character in that video there, but I'm just not that into that sort of game. I'm glad its fans have a sequel of course, but without a demo I'll pass.

Bit of a shame about there being no ZombiU sequel though, a move I genuinely didn't expect. I thought we'd see a multi-format Zombi2 where they'd build on the first one and make a more polished game for a larger audience. It'd need tweaking, but it'd be easy enough.

Disappointing with Zombiu, half a mil on a 3.5 mil worldwide console sales isnt bad a for a new ip at launch i would have thought.

It's OK but not enough to justify exclusivity. Also when the install base has already stagnated at 3.5 million it makes zero financial sense to make any more exclusives or even many more games.
  • Deleted user 10 July 2013 00:09:26
to be honest, its hard to justify any sort of exclusivity, depending on expecations of course.

A bit of a warning shot by ubi though, i thought they might hold back on such a comment when the game, and system is only 8 months old when there is potential to grow that userbase over the course of the next year.

Considering, TLOU has sold 3.5 in 3 months (which is really impressive), for an exclusive with an established user base, 0.5 for a new ip at launch is pretty decent, and something to work with to recoup money back with a second game or DLC.

Just think its pretty telling that everything has seemingly to be serialised and that 25mil in revenue is not even breaking even, reflects on the industry as a whole rather than just on the wii u.

I find it insane to think that zombiu cost 25mil to make, it is a fun game but it is short unfinished and had a fair few flaws. Now if that cost 25 mil then how much are the ps4 and x1 games going to cost to make?

It cost that because it was developed for other platforms. I suspect the cost of porting it to the WiiU and tidying it up, such as they did, was a lot less.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

If they still have the code base for the early prototypes, would that make a multi-format sequel easier? I suppose it depends what point they changed track on it. I'm surprised there isn't even going to be a port of the first one at least, though it would need a bit of reworking. I don't think it'd hurt the core experience all that much, though there are a few things that might need dropped. Nothing major though.

The whole zombie overlay only came in with the WiiU. Plus it isn't going to sell well on 360 and the PS3, is it?
