Game and Wario looked better before i'd got my hands on Nintendo Land. A couple of the mini-games look mighty similar to those on Nintendo Land, so i'm holding out on that one until more details are given.

Is Game and Wario straight up Wario Ware sequel? Stuff I've read suggests it isn't.

Nintendoland really is an excellent game. I was thoroughly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

It isn't. Gone are the random 4 - 5 second challenges. The mini-games are more like those in Nintendo Land, with a goal or highscore to aim for. There's no telling how many games will be on offer thogh, or how they'll be packaged.

That's a shame. I liked the micro mini-game ethos, and the humour such games elicit.

Is Luigi's ghost mansion the best party game of all time?

Reaction from those we've exposed it to over the Xmas period suggests so.

@Blakester that and Mario chase. Wish there were more levels though.

The best games are often the simplest. Unfortunately i've not had a chance to play anything 4 - 5 player yet. Hoping to fix that soon.

Mario chase is fun but many complain about how it controls via the wiimotes.

I think it's harder to control intentionally. Otherwise it would be bloody easy to catch Mario.

Even in comparison to full retail games, the Rayman Legends demo is the best thing I've played on this system so far, that's made me "get it".

Does Pikmin Adventure remind anybody else of Micro Machines? I'm on the very last stage now and it's a tough one. Harder than either the Zelda or Metroid final stages.

Finally got the wii u guys, great system all round, picked up nswbwu, zombiu and the nintendoland in the premium bundle. Have had it for over a week and a bit though, havent started zombiu yet, currently playing mario and nintendo land, it must be said im enjoying the latter, even as a single player experience. Every time i play mario i feel like im going through the motions, maybe its better multi which im yet to give a whirl. It looks great an all but it just doesnt have that spark.

On the upside ive played some mini games on nintendo land and enjoying it. Really only tested some out, have to sit down and have a red hot crack at them.

Havent tried zombiu yet, will def get cracking into it shortly.

The gamepad is awesome, loved playing mario on it, is very comfortable, shame about the battery life though, handy piece of kit though.

Is it just me or do some of the graphics in nintendoland look bloody awesome in big screen on HDMI?!

Overall im impressed with the wiiu, still has that nintedo charm, now hopefully it can get the 3rd party support.

Does anyone else have Sonic Racing on WiiU and find the graphics a little underwhelming?

When compared to the gloriousness of NSMBWU and Nintendoland, they just don't seem as crisp and vibrant.

Quick question. How do you play others online?

I was playing Sonic Racing on the Wii and the Join button was flashing at the bottom of the screen. I tried pressing the button but nothing happened. I also got my friends list up but couldn't connect to anyone.

Does this mean that none of my friends were playing the game? How do you play online?

@AceGrace The join icon flashing is just for local multiplayer-you just push start on another controller for a second person to play.

I'm not sure as for joining friends for online multiplayer, sorry.

@Blakester I was surprised how well it controls with the Wii mote. Certainly doesn't feel digital. Lacks the ability to put the camera behind you but I think that's the whole point as would be too easy to find people if not.

@AceGrace I don't get this either. There's no way of clicking on friends names with the game.

The Pikmin mini-game has some seriously gorgeous visuals too.

@Blakester It's a tad grainy visually on the gamepad and theres something odd about the framerate that I can't quite place. Still loving it though.

I agree about Sonic All Stars, the graphics do seem a bit basic somehow and the colours seem a bit washed-out on the gamepad.

Doesnt stop it being one of the most enjoyable games i've played in recent history though!

The over-reliance on using Wiimotes and Motion plus with Nintendoland and NSMBU has tainted what has otherwise been a really good launch experience.

My preferred option of NSBWU is to play with the wiimote, but i can definately understand if you skipped the wii, the investment would be daunting. Nintendo should have bundled a wiimote+ either with the game or in one of the wiiu bundles.

Played some zelda battle quest wiimote and pikmin adventure last night, both awesome experiences. Pikmin really is an excellent arcade version of the proper version and zelda, well you cant beat zelda music playing in the background can you.

Although one game i keep coming back to is Yoshis fruit kart, such a simple yet addictive mini game.

According to the activity log, I clocked in 112 hours of gaming on my Wii U in December. Why do I still feel i'm not playing games enough?

    Crikey.

Wii U was the only console I played in December, and I got a grand total of 38 hours. Even with remote play, my missus would go nuts if I spent 100 hours in a month gaming!

I'm currently in the 5th Sequence on AC3 and I've got to say so far I'm absolutely loving it. The remote play on this game is wonderful, the game looks awesome on the pad screen (particularly in the snow) and it's nice to really get my teeth in to something adventure-y, to compliment NSMB and Nintendoland. Makes for a nice change of pace.

Not sure if I'll cave and get ZombiU yet, but I think this will see me through until Rayman, and then Lego City, Pikmin and Wonderful 101 in that order.

Given ecosse loves linking every Nintendo article from the front page into the forum I'm a bit surprised he missed this.

Saw that earlier. This is what happens when you tie games to a device not an account.

It's not the users fault Nintendo don't have a clue about online accounts or accounts in general but by the same token it's not Nintendo's fault the user didn't wipe the machine properly before trading it in.

I'm off to CEX this lunchtime :)
