pretty sure i said wiimote chargers. and nope, the conductive chargers use the consoles power source. you have this little male/female box that goes inbetween the console and the power lead, then a little conductive plate that charges up the wiimotes without requiring the battery pack to be taken out. means you don't have to use an extra plug point too.

the original wii had lots of these types of chargers, the best being the madcatz conductive charger. but they don't work now because the plug connector is different on the wii u. i hope they bring one of these out. it's a pain in the arse atm.

First impressions of NSMB WiiU are great.
Looks lovely, very smooth and responsive and level design seems tons better than the Wii NSMB game.

Compare NSMB DS,2. to Wii and Wii U, and it pretty much solidifies my belief that, even though the game was invented on a handheld, it was always meant as a console experience in order to meet its max potential.

In general I hope that the Wii U drops the reliance on the wiimote. and prioritizes the pro controller. I don't mind as such that it still supports it. But I just don't see the long-term point in it. I mean really, apart from NMSBU, which specifically goes out of its way to prioritises its controls to match the Wiimote, what's the point? Also I've drunken 2 bottles of port. So forgive my general talking of utter shite.

The Metroid and Zelda mini-games are the reason I want them to keep at it. They play amazingly well.

After selling my Wii over a year ago, playing with the Wii motion plus again has reminded me what a great controller it is. Especially in Metroid Blast. They need to make more games using it for sure.

    Dear god, please no.
I don't get the hate. Good motion controls are absolutely brilliant. Pre motion plus waggle was bad but motion plus is brilliant. Skyward sword should arrive today ;) And even without motion plus, it's an excellent pointing device. Metroid prime trilogy also on its way.

Give more wii mote games please and thanks

Girlfriend bought me the Wii U for Xmas with ZombiU, Nintendo Land and Sonic Racing.

I am surprising impressed as I wasn't really interested in it. I haven't been able to pull myself away from it.

The web browser is fast and the controls work well, the Lovefilm and Youtube apps are also better than expected.

Nintendo Land shows off the console pretty well, and Sonic is really fun in Co-op and there is a good selection of control methods that I had enough Wii motes and nunchucks to play 4 player. I prefer it over Mario Kart. Well apart from trying to teach her to drift...

I am yet to play ZombiU, does look good though.

@ResidentKnievel - Thanx for that, I was doing so well at resisting. Ah well at least it save me £50+ so the inevitable 6 month price drop wont hurt so much :-)

I just hate standing up to play games trying to use the Wii mote sitting down is just uncomfortable.
You understandably had to stand playing games like Wii Sports; but the likes of Metroid, Zelda and Mario were fine sitting down. Basically motion control took a standard gamepad and broke it in half; the Motion Plus Wii-mote and Nunchuk controller would be perfect for a Luigi’s Mansion U game.

The early build was quoted to look “Poor in comparison to the PS3 version” yet I have the PS3 demo and the Wii U version of the game and the PS3 demo levels on the Wii U look slightly better.

It's pretty much identical to the 360/PS3 versions except it has local 5 person multi-player and costs a few quid more

I'd imagine the 360 and Wii U versions have a superior frame rate, so I'd go for one of them. I have the PS3 version and even my non-hardcore gamer friends notice the framerate issues "why's the screen flickering! it's hurting my eyes!"

For sonic think I'll go 360 version for no better reason then I have enough controllers for 4 player. For now my WiiU shall be the zombiU machine :-)

Sonic seems to run a lot smoother on the Wii U than the Xbox 360 demo version I have.

Got all my wii used games in the post today. Either I remember the games looking a lot worse or the Wii u is doing a good job up scaling.

Super Mario galaxy looks superb. I think the eventual HD SMG will be mind blowing
