Ability to play whilst the missus watches Grimm or some other guff, plus the usual Nintendo favourites plus decent 3rd party support (jury out in the latter), could sell this to me.

Don't give a rats arse about clock speed and graphics and FPS, it's gameplay that's important.

Grimm. Ugh! Firefly got nearly a season. Fucking Grimm is still going with no audience

Okay, maybe I am exaggerating. More like a 2006 pc game.

    Poor fps negatively impacts gameplay.

@PhoenixFlames prices go back up. Read it on a site earlier can't remember which. Offer is for December only on all eshop games.

So if I go to a Game midnight store can I pick one up of the shelf or is it preorders only? Anyone here spoken to them recently?

Reagrding the Virgin media problems, I have the "Superhub" thingymajig and couldn't connect to it automatically but using this, as has been posted before, I had no problems (bar one brief stop during the initial update but what had already been downloaded stayed anyway).
Thanks for posting that! I know it has been posted before, but considering how quickly this thread is moving, it'll easily get lost. I imagine it'll have to be posted again tomorrow, at least a few more times.

Hmm when I try to navigate menus using the left analog it jumps up and down occasionally, seems ok in game. Anybody else noticed this or do I have a borked pad?

Really annoys me when people say this. It's like people live in a world where a game cannot have good graphics AND good gameplay. So here we go.

Good graphics + good gameplay > Bad graphics + good gameplay

The people that said the Wii is "all about the gameplay" need a fucking boot on their neck.

    Get bent.

Surely that's only going to be a problem with rushed ports? The smaller devs seem to have things working well on the eShop, though to be fair, none of them are pushing the console to its limit.

Question that you might know the answer to: can you pause or cancel the day 1 update? I'll be updating at work, but I want to know what to do when I have to go home and it's not finished yet. I'm so afraid of bricking the console. :(

Once started you must leave it to complete. Stopping it will brick the console.

Apparently you can choose to cancel the day 1 update, and then it'll do it in the background? Is there any more info on that? Would be good to know so the rest of us don't cock it up tomorrow xD

Just subtract the update time from the time it'll spend shoved in the back of the cupboard.

That thing is hideous. Couldn't they just build a battery that can be swapped with the tiny one hidden inside the pad?

Just like the good old days of Game Boy battery packs that made it about twice as thick.

A map is like comparing velocity and speed.

Looks like they're dealing with deliveries from both Amazon and Zavvi then. I have a similar status. Hub 1, Birmingham. Shipment recieved by carrier. 22:41.

It's also a portable stand it would seem. It's not exactly going to win any beauty contests, but who's looking at it from the back? Nintendo's certainly not getting my money for such a peripheral.

Am I being dumb or can Sonic Racing only be played on the gamepads screen when in multiplayer? Couldn't see any option to switch to the gamepad and the "manual" and electronic manual aren't very good for anything other than controls.

Also, my "WaraWara Plaza" is currently just filled with Nintendo Miis, is it supposed to be like that?

The range of the gamepad in my house isn't great at all. I have it upstairs in my bedroom and it cuts out when I enter my bathroom and halfway down the stairs basically meaning it's confined to my room. Not sure if I have particularly thick walls or not. I can still play in bed though so that's good.

Looks like it just adds battery life, fits into the slot.
Awful awful awful design, only, made into a stand to compensate for the giant arse-plant of a behind.

Why can't someone just come out with a decent 3000mah + battery to replace the one in the gamepad and be done with it. Not like the tech isn't out there FFS.

It's not necessarily just the thickness, it's the materials that can be of greater significance; there was a video posted, god knows how many pages back now, and the person in the video showed how the Game Pad worked perfectly well in the living room below his bedroom, but as soon as he stepped into his dining area (open plan) the signal dropped out because there was a metal support beam in the way.
