yeah they have nothing advertised at mine either. My tescos as a sideway aisle devoted to the 360, wii, 3ds, ps3. And they do sell consoles. It might be worth a punt going up and just seeing if they do have one.

I've order a Wii LAN adaptor as my Wii u is from my mrs' for Christmas, don't want to risk not getting it online with my virgin hub. Rather connect via Ethernet. Presume this will work fine with the Wii U?

Yeah ive got the virgin media super hub. I did try the link on this thread earlier to change the settings myself but the dns stuff and gateway stuff the guy gave me was completely different. He said hed had loads if calls from virginmedia customers.

He also asked where i got yhe console . I said Shopto and he said they should not have sent this before release date. He made it sound as though he was going to pass the info on to investigate Shopto!? Bizarre.

Anyway im all up and running now snd i think its great. Played SMBWiiu and its great in hd . Went upstairs and played it in bed while condole was on downstairs. Its great having this option. The pad is really comfortable i was very surprised. Youtube is good too. To me it does feel s step up from ps3 /xbox 360. The interaction between pad and tv screen is what makes it feel next generation.

None of his business tbh. Sounds like he was just annoyed that people were ringing up about this problem on his shift, rather than his mate who's probably working on Friday..

So, TNT didn't deliver, had to go to the depot, PITA but worth it.
Feels lovely, set it up, chose to update instead of pressing cancel... Don't know why.
The freaking progress bar hadn't moved a MM since I started it 10 mins ago...

Some hacker reckons the Wii U cpu is less than half the speed of the PS3/360. Also says the GPU is only as good as the PS3.

Yours to care, or not care about, as you see fit.

    Sounds like a right twozzer.

They sent the console for release day, just because the postal service sometimes works doesn't mean they should be punished!

Reagrding the Virgin media problems, I have the "Superhub" thingymajig and couldn't connect to it automatically but using this, as has been posted before, I had no problems (bar one brief stop during the initial update but what had already been downloaded stayed anyway).

Anyway, really loving this. NSMBU is a great Mario game in HD as expected, Nintendoland seems like good fun (will be trying mp at the weekend) Sonic Racing is pretty darn good (holding the gamepad up to get a rear view mirror is a cool, if pointless, gimmick) but Zombi U has 100% sold me on the idea of the gamepad. At one point I "pinged" my radar to check for zombies and there was a red dot right in fromt of me, I panicked, looked up at the TV and saw a rat scurry pass! It's not a perfect game but a survival horror game that can make something as simple as switching two weapons between different slots as tense as Zombi U does is good in my books.

My NNID is, rather predictably, MatMan562. Feel free to add me! Don't worry, i'm not a good drawer so wont be doing any pictures.

He probably ordered it from Game and he was kicking himself.

Result!! Gamepad works in my bedroom.

This in itself is a miracle as I live in a town house. Nano assault at bedtime. Awesome.

It actually lost connection in my hallway but reconnected on the stairs :)
It's an old granite building and my 360 controller would cut out from the lounge to the kitchen (nightmare on halo nights when I wanted a cigarette). This is a good 5 or 6m up and a thick ceiling/heavy carpet between. Good range :)

Trine was lovely on PS3 and it's lost none of its charm on wiiu. Strangely haven't had any use for the pad screen though so far, it does let you choose the characters with it, but it's less fiddly to just use the bumper.

Surely you can draw shapes with the wizard on it?

Maybe. I only played for half an hour or so...had to try out ZombiU which kinda took over
But in that time the pad was fairly redundant.

Amazing how gorgeous the game is though. Really puts some developers to shame.

    First impressions for me...

Gamepad is huge, but surprisingly comfortable. The screen is very responsive, but is mediocre. Colours are muted and it seems to have a yellow tinge.

    Loading times are terrible.

Zombi u looks like a ps2 game. However it is great fun and atmospheric as hell. I have died three times and have genuinely panicked every time trying to flip between pad and tv. It is awkward as hell, but in a good way. Brilliant use of the tech.

New super mario I have only done two levels. Hasn't clicked yet. Graphically is put to shame by rayman origins, but to be fair I haven't given it a proper go yet.

So in general I like it and it does have potential. However the os needs work, with too much loading and my first impressions are that visually it will lag behind even the twins, let alone next gen.
