    lol

Examples of this include a scene early in the film in which he masturbates whilst he watches a DVD of the original Human Centipede film, with sandpaper wrapped around his penis, and a sequence later in the film in which he becomes aroused at the sight of the members of the ‘centipede’ being forced to defecate into one another’s mouths, culminating in sight of the man wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede’.

    Just.... why?
  • Deleted user 6 June 2011 18:44:00
Because pointless sexual violence is edgy and avant garde.

As if being at the back of the 'pede wasn't bad enough.
  • Deleted user 6 June 2011 18:58:39
Why would someone want to watch thus film anyway?

The BBFC are very good. From the description it sounds like it was warranted! :/
  • Deleted user 6 June 2011 19:17:04
Yeah, BBFC are widely considered the best ratings board in the world. If you can actually justify the violence/sex/whatever then they often let it pass, but they're pretty aggressive against violence for the sake of being violent. This sounds like it was virtually nothing more than the makers steepling their fingers and going 'VIOLENCE IS THE NEW ARTFORM, DON'T YOU KNOW' whilst sneering pretentiously. Glad they got slapped down for it.

I'm usually all for freedom and making whatever you like, but I really can't think of any possible narrative justification for showing any of that. If it absolutely, positively needs to be in there for the sake of the story, imply it, don't show it!

Even Biggy wouldn't want to see that, and if he won't watch it, you've lost your audience.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

Given how shit the first film was, does anyone actually want to see a sequel?

    This space left intentionally blank.

I'm disappointed and I was the person who enjoyed the first as a very lightweight horror.

It is the Board’s conclusion that the explicit presentation of the central character’s obsessive sexually violent fantasies is in breach of its Classification Guidelines and poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers.
A real risk that harm is likely to be caused? Really? What is this "harm" of which they speak? If it's that the sexual violence in the film will turn suggestible people into evil rapists, then what about films like Baise Moi and Irreversible? To someone that fucked up it's not going to matter if the rape imagery is justified by context or not.

It does sound astoundingly shit and pointless, granted, but I don't like the idea of these nameless, faceless people deciding what entertainment the ignorant masses can and can't watch. It has no value unless the BBFC say so!

The best part is the thought of someone called "Sir Quentin Thomas" watching all of that. His monocle must have popped out with enough force to embed itself in a nearby wall.

I see he has answered back.

"Thank you BBFC for putting spoilers of my movie on your website and thank you for banning my film in this exceptional way."
You're welcome! Glad you're taking it so well. Wait a sec... this may be sarcasm.

Apparently I made an horrific horror-film, but shouldn't a good horror film be horrific?
No. Just no. Specifically it doesn't need to be needlessly gory to be horrific, some of the best horror out there is implied. That's not the be all and end all, but the belief that it HAS to be gory is wrong.

My dear people it is a f****cking MOVIE. It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art.
It is make believe, so you can chose to not show things, or to show them. If you go for the later and it gets banned, though luck! I'd also happily debate if it was art that required that kind of graphic content - if it is art, it'd still have been art without it.

Give people their own choice to watch it or not. If people can't handle or like my movies they just don't watch them. If people like my movies they have to be able to see them any time, anywhere also in the UK.

I'm of 2 minds about this. I do think people are mature enough to make their own decisions about what they want to watch, so maybe it should be released. But who'd want to watch that? If there are people, good luck to them and I hope they find a way or it gets the ban lifted. I honestly don't think it'll be a huge success though. Like Manhunt 2, I don't think it's really worth the bother trying to ban it.

I think I'd still like to see it released so other EGers who want to see it can, then report back. I bet it's not even all that bad.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

It's not necessarily even a ban on the film itself, it's a ban on what it represents, a very nasty precedent that could see a big wave of uncontextual torture porn. Virtually one step away from snuff.

That is not ART. That is something you need therapy for watching or making.

    Sick fucks. BAN IT ALL!

Just to put the BBFC ban into context - only 11 films in the entire history of the BBFC have been banned, and at this time only 3 remain so.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/jun/07/human-centipede-2-ban-tom-six-spoilers

Generally the BBFC is very lenient nowadays, but this may be a 'line in the sand' judgement to serve as a warning to distributors that sexual violence for the sake of entertainment without context won't be tolerated. Perhaps.

What's wrong with people? All films should feature a mandatory kitten (and to pre-empt, nothing foul shall befall the kitten, except perhaps getting his/her paws a bit muddy from frolicking in the rain).
