Oh sorry I misread your post. I thought you meant whilst he was dying:) Although that wouldn't be exactly out of character either really :p

@mcmonkeyplc Even for George i think it would have been a bit too much if they had done it while he was

No. At that point they have had their falling out and he refuses to acknowledge her.

Tywins has everyone complaining about the smell and its possible he was already dieing from being poisoned by The Viper

Is there evidence for that? I must have missed that.

Its all guess work at the moment by fans. But many think that's why he smelled so badly.

I think its the Widow's blood poison people think might have been used.

Its mentioned in Tyrions trial and George made sure to describe what it did. Pycelle claims some was stolen from his chamber after Tyrion had him imprisoned.

    During the trial Tyrion thinks,

Lord Tywin’s face was so dark that for half a heartbeat Tyrion wondered if he’d drunk some poisoned wine as well.

The poison works by shutting down the persons insides slowly killing them.

Its also thought it could have been Varys which is also possible. When Tywin see's Tyrion has been let free he knows it was Varys. The same Varys who pretty much baited Tyrion into climbing up the ladder to the room.

He also made sure to use the same weapon on Kevan and even shot him in the same place knowing Tyrion would get the blame and he tells Kevan that he cant allow him to undo all varys hard work. Well he says he cant allow him to undo the problems Cersei has caused but those things would not have happened if Tywin and Tyrion were still around to keep her somewhat in place.

A question, going back a bit..
Do we know for sure who was responsible for Joffrey's death? My recollection is that it was Varys and/or Littlefinger, rather than Tyrion.

That Littlefinger claimed responsibility to Sansa is all we know so far.

It was Littlefinger and Olenna Tyrell/Redwyne/Whatever. Mace Tyrell's mother. She wanted Margaery to be queen, but wanted Joffrey out of the way as he couldn't be manipulated/was cruel. Littlefinger gave Ser Dontos the hairnet to give to Sansa, which had crystals of The Strangler poison on it. Just before the feast, Olenna came up to Sansa to 'fix' her hairnet, and Sansa later realised one of the crystals was missing. The implication is that Olenna took it and somehow managed to get it into Joffrey's wine.

This is all from what Littlefinger later tells Sansa after they've escaped. Quite what he gains from helping the Tyrells (that he wouldn't probably already have gotten from being loyal to the Lannisters), is unclear.

A case could be made for not having spoilers but I think the thread title would need to reflect that too.

Maybe he just did it because Joffrey's a cunt!
    Or for money!

A Thread of Ice and Fire (Book pace)?

    Heh.

Seriously though, the latest book in the series has been out for a year or more. I think we can safely assume that most people coming in to the thread have read it? The TV thread doesn't have reams of spoilers, head into there any time after airing and expect to have everything laid bare

If we are going to have pages and pages of spoilered text at least put the tags in context.

"it was spoiler spoiler spoiler" doesn't benefit anyone as you need to uncover it to find the context of the 'spoiler'

Just seems a little daft to me.

anyway back on track i think the supposition about Tywin being poisoned already is fans reading too much into throw away stuff.

I think there are plenty of people reading the books who might pop in here and see stuff they don't want to see...
That included me until few weeks ago.
It's hardly a massive effort to mouse over/click the spoiler text to read it.

Why would anyone reading the books come in here before they've finished? Its not that hard to do; I managed.

Hovering over a spoiler tag to read what is under it isn't that hard either to be honest.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

@Alastair Well, to be fair, Littlefinger's a bit of a cunt himself. So It could be some kind of cunt-on-cunt violence.

    ...

As for the spoilers, for my part it's just to be on the safe side. With the series being popular now, there's likely to be people getting into the books recently. They might come into the thread and see something they wish they hadn't - admittedly, that'd be their own fault, but it doesn't take much effort for those that've read the books to click the spoiler button, or mouse-over the text if they wish to read it, so why not take the extra second. At least that way people can choose whether they wish to see the spoilered text.

Addressing the point of Tywin - I have to admit that hadn't even occurred to me at the time, but GRRM did make a point of how quickly he went off, so perhaps there's something in it. Or Pycelle is just very old and inept.

I quite like being able to unhide the spoilers. Think it's a bit of classical conditioning in that I see the spoiler text, hover over and get enjoyable information.

Little finger was duke of the smallest island in the 7 kingdoms. Basically the lowest of the nobility. He is essentially trying to get as much as he can.

Currently Little Finger is lord protector of one of the 7 kingdoms. If his plan of marrying off Sansa comes to pass he thinks he can be the Hand to the Queen of the North. (Essentially ruler of 3 of the 7 kingdoms and official Lord of the Vale).

In really hope Sansa kills him. If she kills anyone it has to be the pedo.

A Crusader Kings 2 mod just for book wankers! Contains scenarios from 300 years before the books to the start of Book 4.

Seems pretty good by some more videos I've been watching, and the base game doesn't look too shabby either - I've found it for £35 on Steam and £30 from their own site.

I wonder if they are going to do the two weddings simultaneously in the series. It looks like it is heading that way.

@Megapocalypse Despite the 2 posts above it talking about them

Plus this is for the books not the show so any show only fans should not be in this topic.
