He had taken on the face of that guy who died in the prologue, I think? Who was the one who ran off to find Daenerys? Had he turned up again yet?

Archmaester Marwyn. He left for Meereen and that was the last seen of him. I'm guessing he'll have a significant part to play as he's previously taught both Mirri Maz Duur and Qyburn.

The faceless man in the citadel took the face of Pate, the kid from the AFFC Prologue who was named after the Pate the pig boy. The guy who kills pate has the same description as the face Jaqen changes to after he and Arya part ways, then in the last chapter of AFFC Sam encounters someone calling themselves "Pate, like the pig boy".

I'd love it if Cleganebowl happens but can't really see how it could.

Huh, I never noticed that. I'll have to pay more attention when I re-read it.

Quick question for the experts. Want to start reading from the point where khaleesi (?) finds the secret city in the desert. That's what I watched up too. Prefer to read the rest. What book am I on? Thanks.

The TV series is all chopped and changed compared to the books, things happen out of order, some timelines sped up and others left in limbo.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

You should read all the books anyway. The Westeros they depict is grander, richer.

    This.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

Any news/hints/readings in tea leaves/thrown etched bones on when the next book is out?

I'm probably going to have to read the last 2 again aren't I?

I actually enjoyed Feast of Crows more the second time around so it's all gravy baby.

    It's all gravy.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

So given GRRM's latest delusional comments where he thinks that the TV show will wait for him and will also get 3 seasons from AFFC/ADWD, I guess we can all assume now that he's essentially outsourced the ending of his series to TV.

He's obviously slowed down writing wise and though we can blame Meereen, the solution we got to the problem wasn't exactly what you'd expect from 5 years of trying.

Unless he's taking the piss and TWOW comes out in the next 12 months I won't be surprised if he just gives up altogether.

I reckon they're going to have to do a years hiatus. Maybe they'll do a miniseries round Dunk and Egg. If they do, I'll be a very happy chap.

Nah they won't hold off. Martin has already told them how it ends and most characters fates are sealed.

I wouldn't be surpsied if they just cut Dorne to be honest, wont miss much other than Quentyn get burned in the grand culmination of a very long and slightly pointless plot line...

Yeah Quentyn's story was a pointless waste of time.

TV season 4 and Storm of Swords spoiler

I wonder if they're planning to keep the Hound alive for longer in the TV series?

He seemed chipper eating his chicken at the end of the episode for a grievously wounded man, I hope so Sandor is a great character. :D

Well I don't think he is dead in the books as too much evidence points to him being alive but we will get that answered this season most likely unless they end it on a cliff hanger as far as he goes?

Some of the trailers do show Arya on her own.

Another reason the next book needs to come out this year IMO.

He's one of the monks in that place Brienne goes to, isn't he? Or is he the Frankenstein one that's whatsherface's new guard?

Cersei's cleric, (Pycelle?), was mentioned in the TV show which kind of laid some groundwork for the Frankenstein monster plot. (Also discussed Catelyn's corpse).

    Already?!!

That is going to blow the mind of a few of the TV people talking about how nothing ever happens to episode 4.

I guess Sansa already has the murder weapon...

I think Stoneheart is kinda silly, to be honest. Will be interesting to see how it goes over with people watching the series.
