Surely they have to show it. No one will know who he is otherwise.

Unless it happens off screen and they simply have Yara being told her father is dead.

It would be a future book spoiler if its shown.

I feel the same way. Read the entire book series but then I read this thread and most of it is gibberish. Can't tell if I have bad memory or others just have good memory.

I hope so. I would love it to be by Sansa but don't see that happening.

    Maybe Stoneheart?

Littlefinger is too much of a cunt for Martin to predictably off. He'll go missing in a siege or something similarly obscure.

Seems Luke Barnes who plays Rast will be returning in S4.

So could he come across Bran? Maybe a scene with them will bring in Coldhands and Rast's death?

That's me finished Feast for Crows. Bit of a mixed bag. Some very exciting stuff (I love the Arya chapters, and Cersei getting locked up was brilliant), but a fair amount of dullness as well.

I think it was still trying to find its feet after the incredible ending of Storm of Swords, really. I doubt it had to be as long as it was too. Still, I've sat and read its near-800 pages, so it was doing something right.

Finished reading book 5 this evening. Gosh. Starting to see some stuff turning full circle. Really unsure about the direction it seems to be taken with characters I'd thought had gone.

How many 'books' are planned for the series? Winds of Winter must be due out something soon?

Seven, expanded from an originally planned three. So who knows.

I think the books are only split for the paperback versions. They're just that damn big.

Word is that Locke will be having a major change for S4 to the book and will instead be

    Sent to the wall.

Looks like they want to do more with this character.

Finished Dance with Dragons a couple of weeks ago.

JOOOOON! Not sure what will happen with him. The opening chapter with the wildling warg dying and becoming his wolf could be a clue, but Melisandre might also have a part to play. Or he could become a wight, but are they capable of thought? If they're not it might close off Jon chapters so that might not happen.

Found it strange that neither Sansa/Littlefinger or Sam were in Dance, especially after Feast ended with a Sam chapter.

Great ending with Varys killing Kevan and Pycelle. Were we supposed to know who the kids with Varys were, or is that a mystery?

Bran seeing Ned through the Godswood. :'( Now that we know that people can see through the trees it might be interesting to read some chapters again.

afaik, it's the revelation of what Varys' little birds are: a bunch of ninja orphans.

The kids with Varys were his "little birds" who live in the castle walls and eavesdrop for him.

As for Jon... I have no idea what's going to go down on the wall, apart from a general forecast of bloodshed, death and the destruction of the Watch.

Ohhh, that makes sense. I thought his "little birds" were just informants in general, and that he supplemented their info by wandering around the walls.

I think I need to read it all again...
I've forgotten so much! Perhaps I'll wait till S3 is out on DVD, watch through that and then get reading.

Not as nice as I used to be

Really looking forward to Syrio's inevitable heroic return (before he dies for real, probably). Does anyone think he's actually dead? What do we say to death, after all?

I'd love him to save Arya at some point even though it would be incredibly cheesy. :)

@Tom_Servo with regards to Sansa little finger and Sam, the last two books were originally meant to be one but instead of having the second book continue the timeline of the first he separated the characters so one half of them was one book the other held the others (hence having no Jon In the book previous

I too hope Syrio's still alive. Martin has a habit of being rather explicit when a character actually dies. If it seems like a character might be dead, but it's not entirely clear, they're probably fine.

    Probably.
