They left out Syrio Forel[This is from the official GoT page]. Not dead confirmed? Wasn't going to ask this in the TV topic cause the usual few would claim it a book spoiler even when its pure speculation.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything. You didn't see his death; doesn't mean it didn't happen.

You don't see Roberts death :-P

Fair bit of speculation the show might at least have Forel or Jaqen H'ghar take the place of the Kindly Man from Crows/Dragons.

Ah Feast it mixes fan opinion so much.
Yeah, I struggled pretty hard with it to be honest. I felt it lacked the pace of the previous titles, and I really didn't connect with all the characters in the same way as the earlier books. Dragons was a step up though thankfully.

I didn't mind Crows so much but I'm going to find Seasons 4 and 5 of GoT very interesting.

When the TV audience sees where certain characters end up (Tyrion) and how utterly directionless the series becomes, I wonder if it will still be the golden child of HBO

I had no real problems with Feast. The Brienne story could have moved on quicker but on a whole I enjoyed it.

Sadly for Feast it was the book after Storm of Swords and of course a 5 year build up of hype.

I don't think it becomes directionless at all. It just starts telling other stories. Seems to me there's a very definite direction, and on TV they won't split out the character arcs like the books did, so there will be even less sense of a change of tack.

Yeah no chance they will just adapt Feast and leave out Danny, Tyrion and so on so the story should hold up better.

I am slightly amused by how the TV only viewers say that only the King's Landing bits are any good. However there is a book set almost entirely there which most people, including myself, think is easily the weakest.

I think it'll be fine - the next season will have the Purple Wedding and the battle at the wall as it's big moments and I wouldn't be surprised if they brought one of the big battles from the start of the next book back to the end of season 5.

A lot of the tedium in books 4 and 5 is down to people just trying to get to where they need to be for the plot to progress - the TV series doesn't seem to have any issues with fast travel so I imagine they'll be fine.

Writers have already said the final 3 episodes of S4 will have more action than all of S3.

With filming continuing in Belfast and beginning in Iceland this week, the notoriously huge cast of Game of Thrones grows larger every day.
Another child actor has been added to the ranks, and two uncertain returns have been confirmed.

According to the Theatre Workshop in England, one of their students, Brenock O’Connor has been cast in a role on the show. The casting is announced on both their Facebook and their Twitter, where his shooting location is noted:

Brennock O'Connor has just secured a role in Game of Thrones filming in Iceland!!
The actor’s age is listed as thirteen on his Spotlight CV. O’Connor featured in an episode of BBC’s Holby City, played Dodger in the UK tour of Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Oliver!, and has several new roles in the works. O’Connor is represented by Mark Jermin Management.

In other Thrones casting news, we have confirmation of two returns.

With Tony Way‘s tweets in the last few weeks mentioning Belfast, it seemed a return to the show was in the cards and now we have confirmation on the actor’s CV, which states that he’s “currently filming on season four of HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ in which he returns to the role of Dontos Hollard.” Many had speculated that the jester/ex-knight had been written out of the show entirely, so his return is a welcome surprise.
It looks like Ramsay’s friend Myranda will be back next season. Charlotte Hope is also confirmed to appear in season four via her CV. The director for her episodes is only listed as “Various,” so the director was either unknown at the time of the CV updating, or Hope will be in multiple episodes.

Mace Tyrell has been cast, and it's not Gatiss. It's Roger Ashton-Griffiths.

^ Well he still has a part on GOT. It was just rumoured and speculated it would be Tyrell. It's still unannounced what his role is.

He's too camp and arch for that.

Edit: He's too camp and arch for most straight roles, tbh. Even Mycroft was a stretch.

Same. For me, personally, I was thinking of someone like Brian Cox (the actor, not the physicist)

I picture Gatiss playing that Dornish prince who got fried by Viseron. Probably to early for him to be introduced though.

Nah, that character is too young for Gatiss to play him.

I'm going with Kindly Man or Aeron Greyjoy at this point.

Cant see the Kinly Man coming in till S4 if they even use him. As I said rumor has it they may use one of 2 other people for the show ;)

Chances of them showing us how Balon Greyjoy actually died in S4? In the book it just says he fell but always been speculation on it.
