We need a server for this once we've bowled through the single player stuff.

I'd hold off on a server unless it's a dedicated box you can control, standard MP modes are not what makes ARMA great and if you have a decent PC and fast broadband you can host a COOP game for 6-10 people without much hassle.

The most important thing to have for ARMA is a good Voice Comms server.

Think if I was to snap up a proper GPU I could manage this. Yum yum.

Largely, it's the CPU you want to look out for in ArmA.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

Not for ARMA3, the engine has been overhauled to push far more maths onto the GPU.

    Ah. Interesting.

Wherever they put the maths, I'm really looking forward to it.

Interesting, hadn't heard that. Last year they were saying you'd need a decent i5 minimum to run it well.

    also those screens look stunning

@dnbuk No official announcement has been made, though I wouldn't be surprised to see one later today.

I'm inching ever closer to building a new PC, and this game may well push me over the edge into actually doing it. Let's hope it's possible to get through the tutorial without the game shitting itself, which was my experience with Arma II. :-/

Blimey that's the closest to actual photorealism I've seen I reckon, apart from very close up vegetation. Any idea how an i5 3570k/ 7850 OC will run this?

That's the recommended Spec I believe.

    Those screens are jawdropping.

Would anyone be interested in buying an alpha key from me if I buy alpha access?

How big is the Alpha download?

6.95 GB at this moment, to be precise.
