    Starting to get to grips with this now, although haven't started Master League or anything.
    The shooting really is quite floaty isn't it; I've been holding RB (I switch RB and RT for my controls) for a more controlled shot, but I'm conscious I don't want all my goals to be the same.

    Any tips for keeping it down?

    So far, loving this a lot more than "the other game". It does what every PES I've played has managed to do before it. Keep the matches FUN above all else.

    Yep, as Dougs says it's not quite as easy as PC and PS3 but that's only cos you can't drag and drop the files. There is a piece of software called USB XTAF which helps you to inject the files onto a memory stick for porting to your 360.

    The best/most prevelant 360 OF is the Daymos one, V3 is out now which includes all the Jan stuff and is made to work with the March 2012 Konami update. Link here.

    See the tutorial here. Should have a link to the XTAF software, V44 is the latest and final version I believe.

    Only word of warning I would issue is break the OF down into 3 parts. If you try to add more than 250 files at a time to the memory stick the program will crash.

    Get stuck or need any help with it just swing me a PM and I'll try help. Once you get used to it it's dead simple though.

    Is getting the option file on to the PS3 relatively easy then - bar taking a bit of time!

    It's just PES of old - making sure that you have the right player, with the right attributes taking a shot at the right time. I've not found it that floaty, but then the way I play (i.e. badly) means I rarely have much space and score most from within/edge of the box. Scored a few long rangers, but not many.

    Played a few games last night, have to say, the bullshit with ML is wearing me down. Everything takes ages. Just let me play a game FFS!

    Yeah, it seems like there is some big complicated maths based simulation behind the decision making. You just want them to roll a fookin dice and let you get on with the next game tbh.

    I am terrible at shooting on this version compared to most years but my advice is, shoot with the correct foot depending on the player. Long distance shots usually require a bit of space, if there is a defender touching you it makes you spoon them. If thats the case try lobs and shots.
    These arent rules and they are often wrong but they are just things I noticed.

    I have been using the Christmas tree formation with Chelsea online and its been working wonders, I think I have only lost one game and that was due to a dodgy sending off. It works well because my wingers are deep so I can double up on their wingers, it works well on the break and it makes it difficult for them to pass it around the back with a striker and two attacking midfielders congesting the middle.

    Just fired this up and there seems to be a new data pack. Hopefully it's got Scholes back at United, fancy restarting a stuttery ML session.

    Still learning how to play this but just had that moment of realisation that I get every time I come back to PES after a while away at FIFAland.

    Scoring a goal in PES just can't be bettered. It always feels like something to celebrate because you feel like YOU made the goal happen. Something that's very rare in FIFA.

    It is a weird thing, fifa everytime I score I never feel like I earned that goal I have no idea why though. Scoring in PES feels special and don't ask me why because I don't know.

    I do wish shoots had more "ommpfff" in them. Sometimes they really do feel quite random, unless I'm doing something wrong of course.

    It's true what you say about earning the goals though.

    There seems to be less "oommpff" this year, I agree, but that doesn't detract from the feeling too much. Also I think the net bulge is a little off this year (or is that just me?)

    Loving this so far though (working my way through Champs League on Pro with 20 min matches). Hope the ML isn't as horribly bloated as it sounds :/

    I have scored a few crackers, the volleys from corners seem to have crazy bend which is always funny but I managed to delete all my replays last week when the new data pack came out.

    I do enjoy Master League, so much better than career modes FIFA offers, however the addition of player interaction is quite annoying, in theory it's neat it's just too much. I understand why a player might question not being played if he's left out of 4 or 5 matches but complaining every time.

    I think though the right steps are being taken to bringing the feel good back into PES, hopefully it's all forward steps from here.

    Yeah I scored probably my best PES goal of this gen with Jonjo Shelvey (lol) running onto a cleared corner and hitting the top corner with a wicked outside curved dipping volley.

    Don't like the replay system on 360, not sure why there's a limit of 50, can fill up quickly.

    Also the ML BS is annoying me now. Finished my first season (finally - played FIFA much more this year) and the chairman gives me a crappy 'mission' to sign a player who was in the league best 11, yet I had absolutely no transfer budget, so how was I meant to do that? Those stupid 'play this kid' and 'don't get any cards in a derby match' missions can do one as well. You can't get sacked on PES can you, so what's the point of pleasing the chairman?

    Players beefing over numbers and not getting played in Europa League games is grating too, as is the arbitrary coach 'pep talk'. Wouldn't mind if it gave some real tactical insight but it just lists their formation and key player(s), you could do that yourself. Not worth waiting for the loading times/auto save stop-start.

    Having said that behind all of it it's still a lot of fun to play the actual games. Went on a downward dip towards the latter half of the season and was struggling to score goals (realistic!), the run in for 4th place over the last few games was brilliantly tense, one of my best PES experiences actually. Hopefully they can get rid of some of the guff so it's more streamlined and less of a chore in 2013.

    One of the best chairman mission's I had was "Don't pick up a yellow card" in the United vs Liverpool match, I mean really? How is that possible? :p

    Ha yeah I've had that before (from the other side though of course!). At least I completed the 'make sure no player makes a racist comment' mission by selling Suarez.

    You also get shit players moaning. Frustrating experience imo. Think I'm bombing ML and going back to normal leagues/cups. Might play some games then!

    I started ML last night, and within half hour I realised (with the help of this thread) that I'm not going to bother and just do exactly what Dougs said, and just play a normal league season.

    I like signing players though. Especially keepers, as Arsenal's are always poorly rated. Which has been fine until this season. Plus, another striker. Signed Dzeko this time, surprisingly effective.

    Its a direct port although I think you can get mods that alter gameplay for PC.
