Section 8 review is completely wrong. Are they only playing the SP or something?

    Speak the truth hussy!

Made even more glaring by their 9/10 for Crysis online!

Nope, MP is mentioned. Main complaints are poor controls, invisible walls, and poor objectives. It says MP is fun and the game is an improvement over its predecessor, but that releasing it at a budget price online doesn't excuse its shortcomings.

9/10 Crysis online? Have they even fixed it yet? Was completely broken last time I checked.

5/10 MK? Gimme whatever they're smokin'. On second thoughts, nevermind.

Portal should have been a 10. Sword and Sworcery at least an 8. Socom a 4.

    Games TM sucks these days!

Complaints with MK are poor AI, immaturity, shallow mechanics, an un-fun combo system, and that it's stuck in the past.

No mention of online so I imagine it will get a dedicated review down the line.

Maybe they just read Edge for the review scores now, remarkable how similar the scores are getting.

I think so. Unlike most magazines/ websites, they tend to review the online component the month after, when they have actually had chance to play the game enough in MP to rate it...

For example, Halo Reach got 8/10, but the month after the MP review gave it 10/10

Well they've always styled themselves as Edge's main competition. You do still get some big differences, but generally their reviews tend to fall along similar lines.

Indeed. They said that going back to the series' roots was a bad decision and that the series needs to move on.

Does anyone know tha the "*" is for next to some of the titles in the GamesTM reviews? I have never worked it out! It seems to be completely random.

I've always wondered that myself. I think it maybe indicated games of the month?

EDIT: Looking at the current issue and previous issues, all games with an asterix are all high-scoring. So yeah, I imagine GOTM (a "star" game)

That is pretty pointless and stupid if that is what it is?!

I was hoping for something really good from that easter egg. But is it just if its an 8,9 or 10 then? It doesn't seem to mention it anywhere in the mag.

    Lame.

Just checked on their forum. It is awarded to any game that gets a score of 9 or 10.

Definitely agree with the 9/10 for Vampire Smile. Better than its predecessor, which was itself pretty damn brilliant. Puts the likes of Shank to shame.

5/10 for Mortal Kombat? All remaining credibility has gone out of the window with that one.
