I don't know about that one to be honest. Reminds me of something else that somebody made me play on their iPhone. It looks like it could get pretty boring quite quickly.

Here is a preview of Shin'ens mini golf game. They say its a big improvement on the WiiWare game and reckon it will get a March release.

I think a lot of people will buy it simply because they own the other two Mario Land games. I know I am, but i've always heard great things about the Wario platformers.

A first look at the Gamegear games on the 3DS. Including a gamegear border similar to the gameboy one.

I'd have sworn the Game Gear screen was wider. I'd have been wrong, but I'd have sworn it! I do hope the prices are reasonable.

As for Warioland, I'd highly recommend it. The level design is excellent, the abilities keep it feeling fresh for a good while, and there are plenty of secrets to be found. Multiple endings too depending on how many of thes secrets you have (as well as coins).

Kirby is the man! Even if he wasn't, he'd just ingest and become one.

The Game Gear screen was wider, but not massively. It was closer to a square than a widescreen display, but it certainly wasn't square-shaped. Those screenshots, in which the console frame is excluded, perfectly demonstrate the screen's shape.

Edit - What's with all those extra options for the Game Gear VC? Changing colours, screen blurring, etc... The Gameboy VC doesn't have anything. Well, besides the green tint.

Has anyone played that very nice-looking game called Dillon's Rolling Western (or something like that) which appeared on the e-Shop recently? I only noticed the game yesterday but I suspect it's been on there longer as I've not looked on the e-shop in a while.

The trailer looked good, although I still can't work out whether it's a tower defence game or a platformer or a bit of both. I just wasn't willing to spend £9 without knowing anything about it (Nintendo's prices are really nuts, aren't they?).

    Here's a trailer, but there's a 3D one on the e-shop.

There is a thread for that game already. The game went up on the eShop yesterday, after Nintendo's latest video conference thing. I'm not all that into Tower Defence games, having no motivation to play through Plants VS Zombies, but this one looks aright. It looks far more involving, rather than just standing back and watching things unfold. Having heard this is going for $9.99 on the US store though, it makes me feel that perhaps we're being shafted some what. Still, as i've said elsewhere, if the game has the legs, it'll probably be worth the price tag.

Yeah I made a thread here
    http://www.eurogamer.net/forum_thread_posts.php?thread_id=228432

I have seen a couple of reviews from smaller sites that clearly got the game yesterday, its supposedly 20 hours long so I don't trust them at all. Mixed opinions though from what I have seen, some people love it some think its terrible.

Had a look on the e-shop last night and that Shinen mini golf game has a new video and its dated to be released next thursday.

Had a quick google and a preview and some 3D pics are up on this German site

Graphics look good and the preview seems positive, here is the google translate link

Looks alright. I think if I were to go for a golf game I'd probably have that before Let's Golf as I prefer mini-golf and the silliness it brings. It looks like it probably supports Mii's too, and I'm a sucker for Mii support in a game :)

You know what DOESN'T look alright? Actually I got my Kid Icarus code yesterday so I'll stop with that stuff now. I do want VVVVVVV though. What's the hold up with that, I want it now!

Don't know about VVVVV, hopefully it wont be long. Nintendo seem to have a one thing at a time policy which is annoying

I think VVVVVV had been rated for Europe, maybe in early January, which means it is ready to go. There's just no date on the end of it. :(

Demo for DOA: Dimensions Thursday. I really enjoyed the full game so would recommend people to check it out.

We are also getting the mini golf game (£4.50/€5) and Kid Icarus GB version (£2.70/€3)

I downloaded Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH tonight and first impressions aren't great. The animations at the end of each hole are weird. There's no facial animation, just body movement. The mechanics are simple enough. Nothing exciting. Just timed button presses. The courses are ok, but you're required to get within close proximity of the flag with your first shot, which takes some of the fun out of things. Finally, the game crashed on me inside 20 minutes. It froze up on a loading screen. The first time my 3DS has done such a thing and i've owned it since day one.

Not bad for £4.50, but I can't imagine i'll be playing it all that much. We'll see...

Downloaded the DOA demo last night and quite enjoyed it. I may even consider buying it. Have to say that I'm glad I've started renting games as I've saved £50+ by not buying Pilot Wings or Street Fighter. The shop looks quite promising but I have to question the 30 try limit for some game demos. True that 30 goes is enough to tell if you like something, but still....

Ok, so i've got some updated impressions on Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH!, having playing it for a little over 3 hours. With my first impressions I had an almost instant feeling of regret, having purchased this for £4.50. While it's not a bad game, it is one that is lacking any real depth. That's probably unsurprising, given its a game about crazy golf, and given the price, so I can forgive it somewhat. I do feel, however, that my money could probably be better spent elsewhere on the eShop.

Again, the mechanics are incredibly basic. It's all about timing a power bar, followed by an accuracy bar, but with this game you'll find you hit the perfect shot more often than not. With each hole (there are 81 in total) your aim is to hit the ball into the hole, or as close as to as possible, with a single shot. Fail to do this and you must try again from the starting point. In some ways this is convenient as you get a lot of practice to perfect that single shot. However, the experience quickly becomes repetitive with each play through, as you take that same shot over and over again.

As mentioned, the game has 81 holes and these are spread over 9 events. The events are split into 3 difficulties and 3 countries. Whilst this sounds like a lot, it really isn't. Many of the holes are repeatedly re-used. In some cases a few coins are thrown in to act as bonus points. In other cases the courses are mirrored, which doesn't affect the difficulty at all. In the hardest events holes are given a few extra obstacles to increase the difficulty, but the basic layout remains the same as in the easiest events.

In all honesty, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of depth or content in this game and i'm now left with the feeling that i'll probably not even get my £4.50's worth out of the game. Whilst it suits the portable's short burst gameplay, it's incredibly basic stuff and you can see it all quite quickly.

I should probably point out that this purchase was spontaneous and that I wasn't too interested in it before it came out, which will no doubt have some impact on my overall disappointment. I originally had my eyes on Dillon's Rolling Western, but went for this as it was the cheaper option. Can't imagine it'll be taking up space on my SD card much longer though. I'll learn to cut out these random purchases one day!

They did bring over a few Japanese-only titles for the Wii's VC each autumn, but nothing that people weren't already emulating. I think that's about as exciting as things ever got.

Can you buy points cards for the 3DS yet, to avoid inputting CC details? Anyone seen them anywhere in store or online?
