Hopefully not with those coloured visuals, but it would be good to see some of those games updated.

Spoiler: she was just pretending to be impressed :(

Afterall, she did witness me completing the original Zelda at 4 years old. I guess that was the peak of my childhood achievements...

Wasn't the only game I completed at that age either.

I bloody loved that game, but something tells me that the whole Virtual Boy episode is one that Nintendo would rather forget. I doubt we'll see any of them tbh :(

There was an interview with Miyamoto today and he said Nintendo will not restrict other developers with games on the eshop. Not sure if this means file size (as that was a problem with Wiiware) or more adult content but it's probably good thing.

My guess is a bit of both.

I wonder if no restrictions means we will get 59p iPhone style games.

Thanks - I skipped the last couple of revisions of the DS, so that's all new to me. And some fantastic looking games there. I'm a massive fan of Intelligent Systems (with Advance Wars, Paper Mario and Fire Emblem on their roster, who isn't?) and I've loved all of Q-Games output on PSN, so I'm looking forward to plenty from that list.

The review of the Mario vs DK game confuses me though - is the gameplay style the same as that from the classic GBA version, or the less well received DS sequel?

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I've also never owned a DSi so that's a very useful list indeed. Not surprised to see Shantae at No. 1, it seems to be very highly regarded among DSi owners. Didn't realise Intellient Systems also had a game on there though.

No sir it is not. If only it was. The Mario v DK games morphed into a sort of lemmings hybrid. You have no direct control anymore. Rubbish really as the orginal game and the sequel were gaming gold. They are still very good games mind you but not for evryone and certainly not for me.

Gah, just seen the news. Oh well, only a week and a day extra to wait I guess, and I can stop checking for updates every other day now we've got a more firm date.

Is it confirmed if Link's Awakening, Super Mario Land and the DSi store will be on the VC at launch?

Quite looking forward to Shantae and a couple of the old GB classics.

Although I welcome the store with open arms, I am not looking forward to the continuation of this frankly retarded weekly update model. 1 useless game a week and a gem about once every six months.

I never cared for Xevious. Excitebike is a lovely freebie.

    The pokedex should be fun.

Super MArio Land for circa 3 quid is amazing value. No doubt that will transalte to about 6 quid for us? Where's the bloody Zelda game!

Don't tell me. Next week. Drip feed on!

Drip feed is shit isn't it. Why not have hundreds of games available at launch huh?!

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

That's never a good idea. Too much choice is bad for consumers, and some games will inevitably get overlooked.

I much prefer the drip feed method, as long as it's consistent (i.e. at least one good game every week).

Do we know if the eshop titles will be 'full screen' of the 3DS ? and if Super Mario Land will be the colour version not the original black and white title ?

I must admit as the 3DS is now 157 in many places i am tempted to pick one up.

Well, all games will display in the correct aspect ratio, so the GB games will be 4:3 with black borders on all sides. I'm sure there'll be a stretch to full screen option in there, but it probably won't look pretty.

There was no colour version of SML, btw... unless you mean the four or so colours that the GBC added when you played original GB games on the console. Might have that option for VC titles too. Zelda however will be the full-colour DX version.
