    I like that I don't have to remember the combinations of stuff to be able to craft anything. Love this so far.

    This is an awesome game, suffers from just-one-more-go syndrome. Though I have yet to find a single rare item or even a chest with nothing in it, and that's after 10+ hours.

    As well as Metroidvania style titles it reminds me of something Apogee and other shareware outfits would have put out in 90s.

    I hate making these "Thicky" posts but...

    How do you dig? As far as I can tell the controls allow me to move, jump and thrown my pick axe away. I can't find any instructions either.

  • Deleted user 18 May 2011 22:12:40
    Make sure the pickaxe is in one of your slots. Click it. Click and hold on blocks.

    WASD = Up/Down/Left/Right
    Space = Jump
    Q = Throw Item
    1-0 or Scrollwheel = Hot Bar Items
    Esc - Inventory and Crafting menu with options altering depending if you're near a crafting table/forge/anvil/alchemy station

    So, after beginning with a large world I started a small one his evening with my character. I hadn't realised the world size options were so far removed from eachother - on a small world everything's just so much more condensed.

    I've found two chests in my entire time on my large world, on the small one I found three within the first 15 minutes and more since then. Coincidence? Maybe. Though I also hit the lava layer in the time it took me to get to the secondary rock one in the first world, and the initial dirt cave layer was almost a formality. I hadn't realised it affected the actual layer size and such rather than just the width of the world.

    Have you defeated any of the bosses yet? Can't imagine being able to do enough damage to bring one down.
    Must takes a while?

    Holding down the mouse button while digging and constantly having to move the mouse tiny little increments is kind of irritating.

    Have to agree with this the game still needs some love with the controls. The mouse / keyboard combo doesn't really sit that well with me in this instance as there is a constant need to switch between them. Also putting up wood walls doesn't work that well and you can overlap easily and quickly use up loads more wood than is required.

    Finally I'd like a non-monster mode (or at least a noob mode) so that I can fiddle with building without having the bloody annoying enemies being a pain in the arse at the same time as I am trying to learn the controls!

    Still - looking forward to having another bash on it tonight :)

    I'm really struggling with this, I harvested loads of wood, build a work bench but I can't seem to find something to build wooden walls with, I can only seem to build background wooden walls.

    Yep, normal wood without being crafted works as 'normal' wall blocks.

    Completely addicted now. Haven't been this hooked on a game for ages. Found a cool boomerang weapon deep underground. Got a grappling hook now as well, which is awesome for exploring caves.

    I want to play this on my mac :(

    I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

    I've tried Eye of Cthulhu twice. First time I summoned it fairly late during the night and got nowhere close. Second time it spawned just as night fell but I'd chosen a bad spot to fight and spent most of my time fending off zombies and flying eyes. Got him down to 400 but then dawn came and it despawned.

    Yes that's what I was saying above.

    The walls tile is a bit patchy in it's implementation and you can end up sticking loads really close to each other. I think the tile looks like it's three blocks wide but you can stick them up in something like 0.25 block increments.

    Does any body want to club together and buy the 4 pack? It works out at 4.50 each rather than 6.

    People can paypal me, and I'll buy the pack and gift it on. I've done it before with Just Cause 2 in the Steam Bargains thread with 7 other happy campers.

    Cheap gamers UNITE!

    Not really crwoody! I'd need cash in my paypal account, so I can then pay for the bundle with the money from that same paypal account!

    Dudefather, the fun of sorting out the 8-pack Just Cause 2 starts about here; http://www.eurogamer.net/forum_thread_posts.php?thread_id=135136&start=3330

    Saves you the trouble and all that.

    Jetset_UK

    so we only need one more and we're away.

    If you want proper widescreen then this should help.

    You'll have to run the game through that .exe for it to work.
