Hopefully the dragon will be DR49ON, aka the Hyperion moonbase. I think I lot of folks will be disappointed if we DON'T go there...

    @Flying_Pig

You're very welcome. Was fun to take down my 1st raid boss after the frustration of trying to solo Pete.

msg me when you come back to BL2 if you want to co-op some parts of those Dlcs.

I was just thinking last night I'd like to see more done with Tina.

    Happy about the new DLC.

Been farming the Minecraft easter egg for a Blockhead. None so far, but did get the Longbow sniper to drop. Not much use to my Gaige but I'll tweek it across to my Axton.

So, I picked this up again yesterday (on the 360 this time) and am enjoying it again. Want to pick up DLC, edging towards either the pirate one or Torgue. Which would provided the most playtime and new weapons/items etc?

@FuzzyDuck - probably Torgue, but I think I preferred Captain Scarlett's Pirate Booty in terms of story and characters.

Torgue, its funny. Good/Easy raid boss and has vending machines with guaranteed Legendaries.

Of the two I have played so far, Torgue was my favourite.

I really should get back to this and get cracking on Sir Hammerlock's stuff before the next bit of season pass DLC is released.

Gear Up Weekend! Quote from the Gearbox Website.

The Bandits of Pandora can feel one of their own approaching and have ramped up the production of Bandit gear accordingly, so expect to see an increase in Bandit gear drops when playing Borderlands 2 while connected to the internet. But watch out! Reports suggest an increased population of Badass Psychos in Lynchwood, Thousand Cuts and Eridium Blight.

Despite my not really enjoying the game anywhere near as much as I enjoyed the first, I have somehow managed to grind my way up to 45.

There was a certain moment of clarity when I figured out that True Vault Hunter mode was a tad more interesting (albeit hard as hell at first because my gear was absolute crap). Presumably there is a NG++ at the end of the first NG+?

I seem to have derived some perverse pleasure in playing through without having much fun with it. Initially I put this down to the loot, but that can't be the case as the loot I've found all seems rather shite. The non-human enemies are, on the whole, painful to fight en masse (Crysallisks f*ck me off something rotten).

    Maybe I'm just a sucker for grind-em-ups?

Either way, I'm making begrudging progress...somehow.

Crystalisks are easy if you can get in close to melee their legs.

@Ironlungs76 - NG++ is Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, and is apparently super tough.

I found TVHM more interesting that the normal playthough, but as soon as I hit lvl 50, I decided to hold off playing further until the final piece of DLC arrives next month.
  • Deleted user 11 May 2013 11:41:41
@Flying_Pig - Ahh, cheers, I assumed there must have been something like that included :)

I've not bought any of the DLC as yet and I think I'm in the same boat as you re the final piece. There's bound to be some sort of sale on (one would assume) so I'll likely hang off until then to see if I fancy purchasing any.

I hear most of the DLC content is good (unsurprising really given Knoxx and ZI from BL1 were ace).

Also, I didn't realise Crysallisks were weak against melee, I've been tending to phaselock/shotgun them - thanks I'll give that a try!

Yeah, they're resistant to pretty much everything but melee. I'm fairly sure it says so in one of those loading screen tips.

I've played Captain Scarlett and Torgue - both are great. I bought the Season Pass, so have the Hammerlock DLC too, but not really played yet :)

Crystalisks are immune to status effects, so yes, pure power is the best way to go against them.

    So...

You need XBL Gold to redeem the Shift codes on 360.

    What absolute shite.

Edit - cheers for the DLC suggestions everyone.

Despite all the criticism over it's SP experience, I've played it 99% solo (all bar Terra) over multiple playthroughs of every character, and loved every minute of it.

It has that unquantifiable thing about it that only Diablo 2 had before it, and which every single loot'em'up since lacked. Which is a colossal compliment as judging by the number of failures it must be a development recipe really hard to nail.

I sort of understand why some people find it a bit grindy when playing solo, but as a single player experience I found it about as addictive as you'd imagine a loot'em'up game being if you took out the RSI-inducing clicking borefest and instead injected a proper full-bore polished FPS engine, masses of content, and just the right amount of RPG elements.

My GotY last year by miles, single player-wise. The back-handed compliments it tends to get I feel are unwarranted. It's legitimately brilliant even without co-op.

Had a good evening on Pandora. Did some UVHM with someone off of the Gearbox forum, through to the bit in Overlook where you're protecting the beacon to get a fast travel station. Nightmare difficulty spike that I've not been looking forward to. The other guy quit out, it got pretty messy. But I persivered solo and got through, phew.

Then completed TVHM with my Axton. Easy ride, with some of the level 50 gear I'd collected with my Gaige prior to the level cap increase. Warrior dropped an Impaler.

Yeah, I'm just coming up to that bit in UVHM myself, and not looking forward to the section, especially the thresher retrieval... it was bad enough in TVHM!

Hmm, I've decided to go for both Pirate Booty and Campaign of Carnage, but find myself thinking for 800 points more I could grab the season pass.

Anyone here have it and is it worth it?

Might as well, I enjoyed the third DLC although I know a lot of people didn't. At very least it has some really cool guns and there is still one more DLC to come out that's included in the pass.

Also don't forget about the level cap! That's free for season pass holders.

And Pearlescents are in with the lvl cap raise, aren't they?

    Yeah, get season pass.

    @SomaticSense

Yeah, I can sort of agree with the loot-em-up addiction and the overall polish of the game, it all just feels far too samey to BL1 for my personal tastes.

I think my main issue with it is that I overdosed on the original and no matter how much of a technical improvement BL2 may be it's really not different enough to garner much of my enthusiasm.

A solid game no doubt in either case.
