I'm sure I remember them raising it twice so you could eventually get to level 69.
    I stand corrected - 69 it is

Weren't they saying something about how it was difficult to raise the level cap because doing so would break the game? Like, being able to combine skills that weren't meant to be combined.

Not sure why they would say that and then just give in and raise it. Maybe some of the skills will be tweaked as well?

It was less about having two awesome skills combined and more about higher levels = bigger numbers = INSANE damage output and health for enemies. As you go up in levels, enemies gain more damage and health than the player does, eventually far outstripping what the player can do. They did say they'd rebalanced the whole game for it though.

That said, we don't know (although it's safe to assume) if we get a 1:1 ration of levels and skillpoints or something else like only being able to choose one end tier game changer.

Oh and FYI, the first game's level came with General Knoxx (3rd DLC) and a second level cap raise was patched in for free.

GBX always claimed that it was a challenge getting crazy combos of skills running smoothly on the consoles, like a pair of longbow nuke turrets for example. PC hacking types have proved it's possible there, but I've certainly had a lock-up or two during particularly hectic combat, moreso when teamed up.

Limiting end-tree stuff seems the likeliest route, which'll be disappointing but understandable. *sob

So they're actually increasing the backpack space and ammo/eridium count. This is very welcome.

OK so I'm level 27, about to take on the info stockade and would really like some co-op action.

Also thinking about rolling a new toon and doing the entire game co-op

Manky Crack on Steam if you fancy it

I've a Gaige at 50, an Axton at 37, Zero at 29, Mia at mid teens and Salvador at 6.

I'll at least be taking Gaige and Axton to 61 and I'll be starting a Kreig when he's released.

I got all five to level 50. :) 10 complete playthroughs, and I'm going to do it again when the new character is released.

Well if anyone fancies a second run through or st rating from scratch let me know. Got a Siren at 30 and fancy a Ninja (or whatever it is) at zero.

i have no intentions of buying mr. torgue's dlc for now, and i want this pistol.
can anyone w/ an unkempt harold tell me if you got it from savage lee or tokens from the DLC?

Never played the original Borderlands but picked this up cheaply with the intent of trading back but quite tempted to give this a go. My only concern is that most people seem to say its really set up for coop play...thing is I have no friends with interest in this and have no real compulsion to play with randoms. With that in mind is this best skipped as a single player pursuit?

Plenty to do in single player, it's only really the level 50 raid bosses that require a team. I've put q couple of hundred hours in, probably 150 of those single player.

    Psn - Emperorzaphod
    Steam - Emperorzaphod
    Wii U - sirzapalot

Yeah just the story missions and only side missions that are on the same way (ie. I don't go out of my way to do anything). So for example when I go to meet Mordecai, I'll accept the mission from Hammerlock to inject the varkid pods, cause it's in the same area. I've finished the game enough times now that I know exactly which missions to take and which not to take for maximum efficiency.

I've killed Lee many a time with no drop. I think others have too with similar results. So, either get it randomly or buy the dlc.

He does drop it though, if you keep killing him you'll get it eventually.

For the love of god, if someone can get that weapon for you, don't farm for it. Farming weapons in this game was one of the worse design directions this otherwise brilliant sequel took. Farming for a torgue legendary is lunacy.

i like farming for guns. i rather have farmed a gun than have it dupped. i think its a major part of the game. at least for me.
like i said, its lunacy for you maybe, and you got a point. torgue legendarys suck for the exception of the harold and you can get them from the store but i dont have the DLC, so.

I agree, just dupe the damn thing instead of playing their stupid farming game. It's a total and utter waste of time.

ok, harold might be the only gun in the game that i would want it dupe since no one cant confirm the drop and i wont be getting the DLC for now. but the other ones, i have no problem farming them.
dupping them for me, takes part of the fun.

Been playing a mixture of TVHM and the Torgue DLC. Nearly finished the latter, and up to The Fridge in TVHM. Decided to have a look at Hammelock's Big Game Hunt - wow, seriously tough. Met someone 3 levels above me almost straight away, and even the vanilla enemies can take some serious punishment!

    Liking the location, though :)
