Registered 5 years agoYeah I was doing it whilst farming some raid bosses solo and simulatenously leaving another character on split screen so they could level up to 50. I've played through the game enough times so far to not need to take ages trying to kill everything for the umpteenth time. Would never take it online though, completely breaks the game. -

Registered 1 year agoWoohoo! Level 11 after 10 hours (according to Steam).
As Siren I'm mostly putting skill points into elemental and level 1 of the health orbs, that a decent strategy.
I just started Chapter 6, I take it at this rate I'll need a good 40-50 hours to finish this? -

I have to say, for mechromancer users, there's two things I can heartily recommend: the black hole shield and the yellow-jacket smg. Points into more pep and evil enchantress and the world is a-cracklin' with electricity. Anything still alive after the nova finds itself inches away from the barrel of a rabid (shock) lead storm, which is probably the least hospitable environment on pandora. -

All about phaselock pull. Pulls everyone to the phaselock then BOOM grenade grenade grenade rocket...death and 50% heal orbs. Win. Got bullet deflect on too which is always handy.

Hardly. Every time it puts everyone together. Then the team annihilate all. Yeah grenade can do that to but not as effective and you have ammo limitations.

Had excellent four player game for couple of hours. Had some crazy player give me a level 50 sniper rifle worth 280,000!! Something like 18,000 damage and all sorts of other crazy stuff. If only I could actually use it.
Also love my siren, my phaselock now pulls and stuns enemies, gives 75% health back to team members and instantly revives. I can also shoot you in the face and it heals you.

I'm just going to sell it if I ever see a crazy gun in a vending machine because if I sell it now I will just get rapped when I die.

I find they get less useful as the game progresses. The raw damage is great, but the DPS really suffers, you're better off using an SMG or a burst fire sniper rifle, as you'll get the job done 10x faster. Unless you're amazingly good at stacking criticals with Zero, then Jacobs rifles don't hold up as well at high levels. I do like to use the Buffalo rifle though, I've had up to 35k damage on it.Pepsipop wrote:

Registered 4 years agoGrabbed this today, on a bit of a whim. Friend of mine just played through the first game and got this almost straight away, so I thought I'd join him.
Didn't really feel compelled by any of the character choices... Ended up going Commando, so to speak. Unfortunately that was my mate's choice, too. Bit overwhelmed by all the guns, but I did anticipate that, to a degree.
Suppose I'll need to try out each class a bit. -

Jakobs weapons all have a hidden 2x critical damage boost compared to weapons made by other manfacturers. Aim for the head!
Try out the Tresspasser at level 50, massive damage and ignores shields.Pretend my signature is witty and funny.

Get a corrosive SMG as soon as you can and upgrade to a better one whenever possible, you'll need it for fighting Robots. Get something with Shock and keep upgrading, this will help when you get to the Stalkers. It's best to have at least one of each (Pistol, SMG, Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Sniper, Rocket Launcher) just so you can swap if you run out of ammo of another type. Other than that, experiment and use what works for you.

The Shotgun will appear in the inventory of the first character you load, and it's level is dependant on that character. Codes active until the 17th. Pity it's just a basic Heartbreaker obtainable from Moxxi, and not a special version.
ED: Just saw jambii's post. Whoops.

Wait what...35k dmg output? What character? Headshots with Jakobs gives you monstro crits. I don't think I've ever crit for less than 50k with Maya holding a Jakob on most monsters. I get six figure crits on humanoid targets.khaz wrote:

Registered 8 years ago35k base damage on the rifle. It's on the Buffalo, which you get from the Dukino's Mom quest. You need to clear the skag quests in Lynchwood before it appears on the Sanctuary bounty board. It's a Jacobs sniper rifle, it has the highest base damage in the game but you only get iron sights. The damage on it is 30k-35k, I've seen one with 35k damage and 180% critical. -
