Been getting loads of freezes the last couple of days, but the one that just happened when merely loading the game up has inexplicably led to my lvl 43 Siren being wiped. Not even a trace of a corrupt file. Just gone. Never had this happen before, not when the game wasn't even mid-save.
Great.
Well that's this game dead to me then, as I'm now too scared to load any of my other charas. Was still massively enjoying it as well.
Fucking sucks. -

Only the Bee and DPing Harold were farmed for, and even then not for long. The rest were all in the normal run of play. I simply wouldn't have them if it meant having farm for them, as I despise the very idea of repeatedly killing the same boss for hours on end.
Judging by other's experiences I've been massively lucky, but them's the rubs when you have such a stingy loot system. I struggled for ages on TVHM with Zer0 as I didn't anything decent for about 70% of the entire playthrough. It was utterly ridiculous. I was having to use a lvl 30 class mod right up til the Eridium Blight. That's the glory and shitness of a random loot system for you.
It's likely I even had a couple on my Siren, but well, yeah...

Registered 7 years agoI was going to buy myself a new copy of the game thinking I'd simply worn the disc out through overuse and that maybe thats the reason for the lockups.
But a) it's installed to the HDD so isn't actually reading the disc after start up, and b) judging by Gearbox's forums it's now a common issue. So I think its just a case of backing up the files, clearing the cache, and crossing fingers...
Also the loss of my Maya was caused by the game crashing just when the autosave kicked right after loading the save. I've always hated the way some modern games insist on doing that, and now its led to the loss of of well over 50 hours worth of progress. Fuck sake. -

Also got a fair few Legendaries, could replace what you've lost.

Registered 7 years agoIts unplayable with the freezes frankly. Its not the odd lockup, but a freeze every couple of load screens, and thats even if I can get past the main menu without it crashing.
Its crazy.

edit: Just backed my other charas onto a USB stick, and there's nothing anywhere of the Siren save file. No corrupt file, nothing. It literally just deleted itself.
Why in the hell would this happen, and why would Gearbox code the save files to act so bizarrely? The badass reset a lot of people were getting makes me wonder if Gearbox haven't just fucked the way the game stores your charas somehow.

Registered 6 years agoSuggests to me when auto save happens, the old save is deleted and then the new save is created. So Maya got wiped and never rewritten. Bad programming. Always write a second file first, then swap out the first file, rename the second, THEN delete the first file!Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Registered 3 years agoI don't suppose anybody knows what sort of legendaries I should be going for right now?
I have a buddy who I regularly play with, although I wouldn't mind trying my luck at soloing some stuff.
I'm a level 50 Mechromancer, Bee Shield, React Hornet and Moxxi's Heart Breaker.
I tried solo'ing Terramorphous but to no avail, kept getting downed far too quickly. -

Registered 5 years agoThe Dust is a great place to begin. 5 Possible Legendaries.
Avoid farming Terramorphous, Doc Mercy, The Bunker and The Warrior. Their respective drop rates are shit. They are the sole reason the gearbox forums are full of complaints about the drop rates. The rest of the drop rates are pretty fair in my opinion.
If you have the Torgue DLC you can buy Legendaries from the Vending Machines.

Registered 4 years agoBecause the Torgue machine only offers level 48 variants. The time you spend grinding tokens (unless you are using the multiplayer expoloit) simply isn't worth it.
The only thing that MIGHT be worth it is a DPUH, but even then it'll be level 48 and you'd be better off farming it from a different source -

Registered 8 years agoFinished Captain Scarlett & her Pirate's Booty last night (thanks for the help BeebleB) - really enjoyed it as a fresh diverson from the main story end-game.
I say completed, although I have a few side missions to complete, not least the one where you go through the final mission again for moar lootz. -

All games like this need an auction house. Let those who enjoy the repetitive soul destroying grind carry on farming for stuff, and let them earn ludicrous amounts of revenue from those of us who have more sense than to willingly bore ourselves to tears.
