Registered 5 years agoShit, are the cursed items good? I figured they were like that awful other cursed item from a quest that was good to use, but painful on the ears.
I sold all the cursed items I have so far, since the text seemed to suggest they might hurt you back in some cases!
Have I made a massive blunder by not checking online first? -

Registered 8 years agoThey all have a downside but overall they're good, especially when combined. To use RK's example, you get a shield that does explosive damage when you melee, and an assault rifle that has 200% melee damage. So it's a big damage buff when combined, and I actually spent a lot of the DLC running around stabsploding everything.

Registered 5 years agoAh. Oh well, easy come, easy go.... I remember trying the rifle, but I got damaged too, so figured they were not good for my health. It may possibly have been someone else shooting at me after reading what you wrote.
I got a cursed relic last night that said it leached health, I wasn't sure if it was from them or me, so I just sold it after a quick try.
As an aside, having mentioned assault rifles, I really hate the rocket assault rifles and wish they weren't so frequent. They were fun to start with, but now I want another decent spingun or some equivalent type. I had a great Incendiary one, but as I level up, it's losing it's efficacy.

Exactly this. I thought it was already established even throught the pre-release PR phase that Zero was the the 'skill' class. Obviously not enough.

Zero is all about focusing on particular skills while fobbing off the others, that's his point. He's a better sniper by a million miles than anyone else when going down the sniping tree, and about 10x more devastating than anyone else when focusing on the melee tree. That's entirely the point, that you can only focus on one skill at a time and become ridiculously powerful at that one skill.
In the hands of a gamer whose naturally good anyway at each particular skill without the buffs (those elite Battlefield snipers for example...), each tree makes him way, way, way more dangerous than any other character on the roster. Zero is the 'character' equivalent of the ideal behind TVHM. You get more reward, but you have to work much harder at it. That's exactly why Gearbox designed him the way they did.
That you aren't getting on with him or think he's the worst character suggests that either you aren't using him properly, are not good enough at the particular skill you have chosen to focus on, or maybe have been too spoilt by letting the Commando's turrets do all the work

See massive enemy, use Deception, go around the back of him, melee, enemy dead, see another enemy, go behind him, rinse repeat. If there are no enemies around to recharge the ability, then go into cover and try again. Remember, with a decent Amp shield you can also deal crazy damage by shooting while using Deception, then retreat into cover again.
Against bosses like Bunk3r, the game becomes massively hard admittedly, which is one reason I struggled so much in TVHM. But for me large parts of the game were miles easier with Zero than with Gaige or Maya. Axton you can just drop the turret and be done with it. If that's more fun for you, then fine, but I find it hard to understand.

I've played all the characters a lot (except Gunzerker) and I do enjoy them all. Favourite is probably the Siren, I just find her more fun to play as. I've been playing as Zero recently, up to level 42 with him now and I've been having a lot of fun. Not been dying much either, my main tactic is to identify the toughest enemy that's appeared, go in to deception and run in to his face and unload every kunai in one go, run behind him, and after I open fire it's enough to bring almost anything down very quickly. The combination of all the kunai + exploding decoy + the damage multiplier from deception and ambush shreds almost everything in seconds and is great fun.ecureuil wrote:

Deception recharges quickly enough that if I need it for a badass, I can duck behind cover and wait for the cooldown. This is the most fun I've had with Zero. I'll respec to Bloodshed again at 50 to see how it is. I liked it before but found it limited me in a few situations. -

Registered 8 years agoYeah it's useless. I already found a version of that shield from a chubby, it was the first one I found and it was useless back then. Even when it gives you rare loot it gives you shitty versions. When the loot is so rare then it should be at least guaranteed to be worthwhile. Shittest loot system ever.

Registered 6 years agoGot this a few weeks back when Game did it for £19.99. Planning on playing it in split-screen co-op with my best mate and a few beers over the Christmas period and beyond like we did on the first one! I see a big patch just landed today too so hopefully that'll iron out any major problems the game may have had.
Any tips from those who've played this on a good pairing of the available characters, bearing in mind I don't have the pre-launch DLC that included the 'Mechromancer' class? I used the Siren in the first game and my mate used the Berserker. -

Registered 5 years agoI could imagine Siren and Gunzerker being a good combo. Once Siren gets the phaselock ability that can affect multiple enemies.
I've only played Gunzerker upto about level 7 and not played Siren yet. But I think their skills would compliment each other. -

Registered 8 years agoGunzerker is quite an interesting class because you can tank with it, go for all out damage or spec for colossal burst damage. But whatever spec you go with since you can dual wield you can do something no other class can do on it's own, fire slag weapons and normal weapons at the same time."If we hit that bullseye the rest of the dominoes will fall like a a house of cards, checkmate." Registered 2 years ago+1 for someone on couch co-op having to be siren.
Started this with my brother yesterday. Not as good as the first so far, and a lot less impactful. Maybe it's because we rinsed the first something hardcore, but still.

That's quite weak frankly. If its a level 50 character, your average sniper rifle should be 24k base damage at a minimum.

This DLC will likely raise the level cap so your level 50 sniper rifle is soon going to be pretty useless.
