I never got on with Battlestar Galactica. No likeable characters.

The characters are what makes BSG so good imo.

Hey, this is precisely the series I was going to post :)

Bit of a surprising end to the season I thought. Hope the second season is as good. I also want to commit some predictions to the internet (these aren't spoilers, just guesses).

Tigh's wife is definitly a cylon - given the hazy way she was rescued, plus the way she manipulates Tigh, and Gaius keeping her detector result secret, she has to be, surely? I'm also tempted to call Gaeta, but only based on his suspiciously high aptitude for creating firewalls and othet software exceedingly quickly. However, you'd also expect an officer in his position to have been tested, so whilst I'm suspicious I don't think he is. I'm watching him though.

As for definitely nots, Gaius wouldn't make sense so he has to be human. Same with Helo. Roslyn & Adama too, as well as pretty much all senior officers since you'd think they'd have been tested. Time will tell though :)

I do know from reading an article on Cracked that the later seasons were made up on the fly, so I don't expect any big revelations to be signposted. People that have seen it all can laugh at how wrong I am in my guessing though :p

    Great show so far.

@DFawkes I think your mistake there is considering any future reveals will have to make sense.

They tried the whole making sense thing for the first couple of series but decided it was optional after that.

This is not to say any of your guesses are right or wrong.

I have heard a lot of people saying they felt the last couple of seasons lost the plot, but I liked Lost all the way through so I'll just try to ignore any plot holes and enjoy the ride :)

I bet it's a while since anyone has played it :) As long as EVERYONE doesn't turn out to be Cylons I'll be happy. That whole mantra about "It has happened before and it'll happen again" makes me think that's entirely possible, plus it'd certainly be a reason for nerdrage, and it wouldn't make sense at all.

But for me and sirtacos, time will tell. Roll on season 2!

Don't worry. I've just started watching them again as the wife hasn't seen it before, and I can't help looking for 'clues' now. It's just great tv, enjoy it :)

@DFawkes The slutty Stepford housewife is definitely a Cylon. (Alcoholic what's-his-name's wife.) And by definitely I mean maybe.

Season 2 is cool so far, but I'm worried about the 'making shit up on the fly' comments. Since there are only 4 seasons, that doesn't bode well for 3 & 4. (I gave up on Lost when they started piling on the bullshit like a game of Jenga.)

    Deadwood - Season 3

Once again I am disappointed it comes to an end. One of the finest TV shows ever made. Great range of characters, interesting story and some wonderful swearing.

An anime series that tries to make you question what is reality and what is a delusion (and fails :p) follows a group of high school children called Gigalomaniacs who can see delusions and can cause them using the power of a weapon called a Di-Sword, series started off good, then about mid way sort of lost it's way before picking up in the final 2 episodes, good characters though kept me going

    8.5/10

Sons of Anarchy seasons 1-3 (im on episode 10 on season 4). Took a while for me to get into it but i can't stop watching it at the moment. It's pretty brutal at times and i feel like i like most of the characters within SAMCRO and even some others from the Mayans and the Niners.

I'd give it a solid 8/10 so far. I'm enjoying it as much as I like Dexter and Breaking Bad though i'm not sure if i prefer it to any of those two series' either.

    Fringe 1-4

Been working my way through the box set, halfway through season 4. Have to give the show a solid 9/10. Do enjoy my sci fi shows but it was the acting of John Noble that got me hooked on this show. Especially as the relationship develops with his son played by Joshua Jackson.

The only thing that really put a downer on it for me was the product placement. It's about as subtle as being hit in the face with a hammer. Unless they thought, well we have to do this but we don't want to, lets give people something to complain about

Car doing a handbrake turn, them camera zooms straight to the car badge telling you the make and model. Video call with the Sprint logo filling up one whole corner of the screen

Was a good subtle one, always using Apple laptops, one scene computer in the background stays on the windows desktop booting up loading screen. Maybe little in joke or it was just a coincidence.

Favourite one, random character has to escape a lightning storm, jumps in his car, turns the camera on which lets him see what's behind him. Uses that built in camera to quickly reverse and escape. Camera then zooms in on the make and model and stays there for a few seconds just to let you know the type of car.

Those things piss me off more than couple of the weak episodes . Overall I love the show, think we have been quite lucky to see some great acting in different TV shows from the likes of John Noble, Byran Cranston and Jon Hamm

Fringe is fucking ace. First three seasons and 12 episodes of season 4 are on Warner TV. Watched ep 11 last night which is a weak one with some major camera shots of her electric car and the charging station. Was it a fiat?

    @Madder-Max
I believe it's a Nissan, will have to check it again. As soon as I saw Olivia charging the car I thought oh no whose car are they advertising now. If its subtle ok, no need to use a 2 second camera shot on the make and model.

I'm sure it's all aimed for people who buy boxsets. Oh so you don't want to see any commercial breaks well we shall put actual adverts in the programme. That will piss them off

Just finished season 4 of Sons of Anarchy. Really loving it at the moment. Debating to now start The Shield now as it has the same writer. I guess Sopranos may have to wait a while longer.

Why has it taken me so long to appreciate the amount of good on tv?

The British - 5/10 - Sky history series on Britain. Highlights include Jessie J, Russell Brand and Steven Gerrard sharing their in-depth expertise on British history.

They also skipped some pretty important bits of history. They went straight from the end of Roman rule to the Norman conquest. I think covering the arrival of the Saxons, Angles and Jutes etc. might have been worthwhile as the whole Anglo Saxon thing seems a pretty important part of the identity of the British.

It did have its moments but I could have done without the celebrity commentary on bits of history I would imagine the celebrities knew nothing about in advance of being prepped to comment on it. Honestly I don't give a flying fuck what Jessie J thinks of a bit of history they only just learned.
