    @Vortex808

have you already received a message about a stranger in Cassardis? Cant remember if you have to complete the main game for her to appear or if you hit a certain level or that you can access it straight from the start. I was already in NG+ when i restarted this

Is there no woman(she takes you to the Isle) on the Cassardis pier at nighttime? If there is, just pop over for a quick look

Plus if you want to do NG+ in hard mode you will get a bigger amount of money dropped in loot.

You don't have to complete the main game to get the message.. Its been there for me since I started playing again from around lvl 30.

She was there from the start for me. Spotted her while looking for the nightflowering plants. At level 1, I figured I should wait a bit!

If I switch vocations, do I have to rebuy all my abilities if I switch back ?

E.g. Am a sorceror and would like to try out Magick Archer. Do I have to rebuy all my Sorcery abilities with combat points when I switch back ?

No you don't. All the augments you unlock will be unlocked for all vocations. The skills you brought as a previous class will still be unlocked if you decide to switch back to it later

Also once you have paid to unlock a vocation/class it doesn't cost anything to switch between classes you have already unlocked

Well finally some progress made in bbi.

But of course not before the game really tested me with a new enemy : nightmare ogre thing, cue 40 minute fight!

After that though I slew the gore cyclops that's chained up which was actually quite straight forward and am now going back to do the giant beholder. Picked Bunny up to help with that.

Glol, Elder Ogres! A bit different to the ones in Gransys, as my pawns succinctly pointed out the other day -

"Seems the sight of men excites it to a frenzy!"

"Be wary sire, it attacks men with especial zeal!"

I'd been wondering why it was attacking my main male character with such gusto too, I was so used to those things dragging Orenda off to snack on her :D

I just had an amazing fight with 3 eliminators, 3 warg type enemies that come instead of death sometimes when the cloud comes in and two massive chained up dudes, long fight and alot of xp. Love this game

I don't like the world after the dragon has been killed, its perpetually dark, and the enemies are too tough! Dragons and hell-hounds and stone gargoyles - oh my!

It's also not beautiful either - i know its sort of the point, but i miss the lush green forests, blue skies and greenery :(

I think if it was designed to look a certain way that would be ok, like Dark Souls is a beautiful game in its own way (even though its really disturbing), and some areas of Dragon's Dogma have their own art direction that makes it look creepy, but still awesome, but in the once lush open area of DDthey've just added that weird scrolling sky and lots of black dust and a yellow/green filter over everything.

I liked the look of the Bitterblack Isle stuff in the screenshots (partly because it looked a bit like Dark Souls :p)

@shamblemonkee that nightmare ogre owned me last night. Got it down to third health then it starts being frenzied and one shots my pawns, oh and me. Dammit, I guess I need to head back to the everfall and grind a few more levels.

@fragglerocks wake crystals seem essential for those!

Made it a fair bit further tonight, just after the void key, this game just keeps on giving

Not very far in (got some pawns, fought a cool ogre with one eye, collected some flowers), but I'm enjoying it a lot. If I had to describe it in terms of other things I'd say Dark Souls / Xenoblade / Kingdom of Amalur, but not really :)

Glad to hear you're enjoying the game monkehhh, it's a lot of fun! Though be warned, those initial fights are just to ease you in, it won't be so easy the next time you bump into a full health Cyclops out in the wild ;).

I'm building up the Strider occupation at the moment to possibly lead into Ranger or Magick Archer occupation. It's a fun change of pace from the mostly melee/magick centric occupations that I've played for most of my near 300-hours of this game!

It's nice to shoot at things from range, especially if that thing is a 50 foot GoreCyclops and you're using a bow that auto-magically adds fire to your arrows:

Damn. Last night outside gran soren I got into a scrap in the dark with some flying monster. I don't think it was a dragon, but couldn't really see what it was. We were making good progress on it, until a bunch of hobgoblins ambushed us and while we dealt with them, it flew away.

I hate goblins now. They already let a dragon escape when the same thing happened at night in the forest near the shadow fort.

    Bah.

    Love this game.

@Vortex808 Yeah it annoyed me sometimes when goblins would attack me instead of some enormous creature that was wiping us all out... what did I do??

Then again the interactions between some of the critters was a really nice touch. I think I came across a cyclops that was being kept as a pet by some goblins, and when I met a hydra some goblins were attacking it already (and not faring too well)! Plus the first time I saw a griffin it swooped out of the sky and picked up a cow for its lunch. Hair-raising :)

I've now started Bitterblack Isle in my post-game, not NG+. Bad idea? Good idea? From what I can tell, post-game doesn't seem to have any influence on BIB, but I'd rather avoid having to start the island again in a NG+ in the future just because I am missing something right now! :)

Having tried to take one down again, I think the thing I saw that night was probably a griffin.

Chimera's are ok, but yet again the griffen took off before we could really get started on it. It did look to have a *lot* of health mind. We probably didn't hurt it too much.....

@UncleLou NG or not shouldn't make a difference. It's tough enough anyway.

    Having progressed a fair bit further over the weekend my tips for apparoaching it would be;

    1. Attempt it during the Everfall phase of the game, you'll need those wake stones.

    2. be roughly lvl 70. you can manage from 50ish but it's much more manageable with the extra levels.

    3. bring someone that can clear status attacks and silence enemies.
