    No doubt the Sony customers are going to have a nervous lol at it all, but I wouldn't be too fast to shrug it off. It's not to be taken too lightly as they've destroyed plenty of government funded operations so far and put many unscrupulous companies out of business. Nothing as big as Sony though, so it should be amusing to see how they go about it. Speaking as a Sony detractor and an armchair supporter of Anonymous, that is.

    UPDATE: Just so we don't stamp on the same ground over and over, 4chan isn't Anonymous. They are two very separate things.

    Okay let me get this straight, you say that Sony is not letting it's consumers customize their consoles and therefore oppressing them, but then you bring down the PS Network and screw Sony customers again...can't you focus on more important things like government and religious institutions that REALLY oppress the free flow of information...

    Anonymous would be much better without all the melodramatic posturing.

    Psn seems to be offline... hope its not to do with this :/.. stupid hackers.. I pay for my games, I support the devs and I'll be pissed off if I can't play online just beacuse some spotty teenager is in a strop because he can't run linux on a ps3...

    http://us.playstation.com/psn/index.htm and http://store.playstation.com/ have bitten the dust, so yeah. it's real. Only the American side of things though, it's all up and running still for the UK.

    Anonymous do great work though, I really liked what they did to get internet to Egypt when their gov turned it off. Very clever and and as it goes, vital to the rebellion there.

    you say "Sony don't trust their customers", I chose the ps3 as my platform of choice purely because Sony appeared to screw gamers the least. Game sharing, non-proprietary accessories, free online, a nicenopen platform that allows other developers to release xmb apps... I can't see how any of the above screws people over.

    To say I'm a little pissed off with the shitstorm Hotz has started up would be understating it somewhat. Like jad said, I'm a paying customer who's more than happy with te service Sony offer me. Why the fuck should I lose out because some "hackers" have decided to develop some deluded moral stance?

    Let's just say your wish comes true and they "take Sony down". What then? 80 million customers unable to use their gaming platform of choice, umpteen games developers out of business because they can't afford to shift platforms across to one of the remaining holders...

    Really can't see what anonymous are hoping to get out of this, I have to say

    I agree from the point of view that knocking the hornet's nest before inserting your penis would almost certainly inflame the little varmits, but otherwise I'm not following you.
