The scene between Charles Dance and Diana Rigg was absolute gold. What a sensational cast this show has.

And I loved the guy playing the-guy-torturing-theon-whose-name-I-do-know-but-can't-talk-about-owing-to-book-wankery. He gives Joffrey a run for his money in sadism.

For the permanently confused and anyone who's sort of keen what some of the backstory is that is often touched upon but rarely explained, this youtube channel is great. A geeky hot girl explaining the history of the various houses. All spoiler free.

The Lannisters part 1 was quite a good watch.

Well, if it's something the TV show has mentioned already, feel free to throw the name around. I wasn't sure myself.

Diana Rigg may have had the line of the season ;)

I know not many liked her but damn that was a bit of over kill at the end even if we didn't actually see it.

I just read that the awesomely hot ginger actress is Scottish, seems strange not to use her normal accent for a character from the far North and to use a Northern English one.

Jon Snow is a bit slow, isn't he? Doesn't seem like there's much going on up there. Also, his new girlfriend seems to have him by the marbles.

The problematic parts (the bran non-story and the happenings north of the wall) have always been that way, imo. It's just that there wasn't quite as many awesome scenes this episode to balance it out.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the writing sagged a little.
Still, I edited my post because, in hindsight, I enjoyed many of the scenes - Tywin & Olenna, Arya, Jaime (always a highlight) and Theon.

You're right about Bran's subplot, though. Even Osha and Hodor can't make up for how comparatively uninteresting it is.

It's pretty hard to make some of the stories interesting if you're following from the books, because some characters spend entire volumes doing fuck-all. But you can't just have main characters disappear for seasons at a time in a TV show, so you have all these scenes serving to establish that, yes, Bran is still in the woods.

    Yep, still in the woods.

    *next episode*

    Yep, still having dreams.

    *next episode*

    It's time-killing, basically.

Poor Theon? Kill the fucker and be done with it. That whole thing is even more boring than The Wall climbers or the narcoleptics in the woods.

Buuurrt. Fantastic season. The shenanigans at Kings Landing are pure gold. Glad to see that good old Joffrey hasn't been brainwashed by miss scheme-a-lot. And the bit with The Mayor from The Wire and Nonuts was marvelous as always. But, as has been mentioned, Diana Rigg and Charles Dance stole the episode.

Glad to see the conexions between Friar tuck and Red Ridinghood being clarified. Taliban invaders eh? Who'd a thunk it.

I am a bit confused about the boat at the end. Did that have Littlefinger on it? I hope not...
