@Tonka As mentioned he is The Hounds brother. In season 1 he gets pissed off and chops a horses head off and would have kill the Knight of Flowers if not for The Hound.

Caligula. Has it ever been said if Joffrey is based on him in some way? Either way Jack Gleeson looks a lot like that statue.

The character of Joffrey is certainly very Caligula like.

I don't know much about him only he was considered a bit nuts which yes would be a good description of Joffrey.

    From wikipedia:

sources focus upon his cruelty, extravagance, and sexual perversity, presenting him as an insane tyrant

So if I get this right the guy in tights was sent to kill the hound and ended up leading a religious cult in the woods.

I nominate him for that "you had ONE job" tumblr...

Except he wasn't sent after the hound. The hound was at King's landing back then.

@Tonka No he was sent for the Hounds brother The Mountain who had been raiding the Riverlands.

Who's playing him this season? [if he is even in it?] Conan Stevens or Ian Whyte again?

@Baihu1983 oh in that case it's perfectly fine that he ends up with a bunch of cultists on the middle of good knows where.

In the discussion around the fire they mentioned that The Mountain had killed him, I believe they said it was him that took Beric's eye too. So it's not like he didn't *try* but yeah he's gone a bit off-task.

Yet again its a case of not having enough time to fully explain or explore the book.

@Mr-Brett He said it was the Lannisters who couldn't decide if they should hang him or stick a dagger in his eye so they did both.

Ah ok so maybe The Mountain, maybe not. Either way he was mentioned but perhaps not directly.

No the Mountain has killed him once.

Killed him with a lance through the chest and the 2nd time he was killed by a Clegane was the Hound.

It was The Mountain who stabbed him in the eye in the you know what. So in the you know what he has killed him twice but in the show only once.

It is indeed a very valid and well thought out point.

Slightly book wankerish question, but have any of Westoros/Essos gods other than the Red God been shown to actually exist/have power? Obviously Thoros is reviving Beric, and Melisandre making shadow babies, but what about the Seven/Old Gods?

Not that I remember. But then they've not done anything in the book so far (I'm up to Eddard being arrested at knife point by the scheming Baelish.)
The tree's/godswoods are mentioned a lot, but other than that...

@DUFFKING This is probably a better question for the other thread.
