Vanquish, Killzone 2 and 3, Motorstorm, MGS4, Folklore

God of war 3, Bayonetta, Heavenly Sword, Resistance 1 and 2

    All pretty cheap and brilliant

I know you can get it on 360, but Star Ocean The Last Hope is a good game if you like JRPG's.

I'm about 40 hours in and really enjoying it at the moment. Yeah it has its flaws but the battle system is excellent.

I like it when he's angry.

I assume you're playing with the Japanese voice-overs?

The English ones (one in particular) sounded awful.

Yes I am, and your right, the English voice-overs are awful. Other than that and a few dodgy looking environments, The rest of the game (so far) has been good.

I've just re-bought myself a PS3 here in Australia after wandering around the world for a bit. The last game I played properly was Uncharted 2 in Christmas 2009.

What games that have came out in the last 14 or so months would you recommend? I love Uncharted style games, as well as Assassins Creed. I'm partial to the odd FPS too, and survival horror games.
Castlevania: Lord of Shadow, Enslaved and Vanquish are great fun; check out the demos! Have you already tried out Batman: Arkham Asylum? Assassin's Creed 2 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood are meant to be very good too.

EDIT: I'm presently working my way through Mass Effect 2 and that is also highly recommended.

I personally wouldn't recommend Enslaved. I also found AC2 a lot more fun than Brotherhood, although not sure why as they appear to be almost identical

When did this shitty console get so good???

    Around 2009/ 2010

Oh, it was a rhetorical question, wasn't it? When I was looking for a console in 2008 the PS3 was rubbish

Going to the budget PS3 section in Gamestation this lunchtime. What shall I get? Don't really mind what genre.

If it helps, my favourite games of recent times are Batman Arkham Asylum/City, Uncharted (1, 2, 3), Heavy Rain and Gears of War 1,2 (although I no longer have a 360).

    Tough question....

How about something like Infamous, Prince of Persia (the cel-shaded one), Rage or Enslaved?

Skyrim, obviously. Oh, right, PS3. Not Skyrim then.
