I love Ron. The scene when he has the hernia and he tries to eat the hamburger cracks me up every time.

Chanced episode 4, the one with the journalist, it was much better. In fact, it's the first episode that genuinely made me laugh! Starting to enjoy it

Season 1's only 6 episodes of less than half an hour each. Given how many hours of broken anime you've watched, surely you should be able to get through 2.5 hours of attempted comedy.

Personally I quite like season 1. In some ways it's more of a pilot for series 2 and some of the characters aren't fully developed, but the characters that are there work really well IMO, and it sets up the pit/park concept which the whole show hangs off really.
We tried watching the first season together many years ago, shortly or not long after the show began. We couldn't get past the second episode!

Stick with it. The first season is only 6 episodes, and then it gets much much better as it goes along. I love it.

    This always cracks me up

It's from about mid-season 2 onwards that the show really comes into it's own for me. Season 3 and 4 are just fantastic.

Really had to fight through season one, but within seconds of season two I was hooked-think it was the penguin episode. Hammered through the rest really quickly. Ron is a comedy god to me now

    I quit on the first,

And then a few months later I was inspired to try again. Now it's one of my favourite current comedies.

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

I've got to keep trying to persuade friends to stick with it through season one, as the mother fuckers keep giving up stating "It's shit".
I blasted through every episode in a couple of weeks when I was off on sick a few months back. It's now easily one of my favourite shows, my wife even got me a Ron Swanson "MEAT" T-shirt :)
I only recently realised it's back on in September, I thought I'd have to wait until next year for the next season! *chuffed!*

    This is exactly how. Feel.

I think they it the Leslie character wrong for a long time, when they made her a heroine rather than a female David Brent, it clicked.

Just found out that season 5 is about, excellent.

I've turned off all the avatars and crap, so don't expect me to be impressed by yours.

Started catching up on this yesterday. Over here in Holland they started showing it and just stopped at the end of Season 2, so I've had to find it online. Currently on Ep 8 of Season 4 and its getting funnier each season. Its literally the best show I've seen :D

I think the introduction of story arcs to each season also helped this show a lot. While it is still very episodic at the end of the day, there are developing story lines over the course of each season which helps keep the show interesting.

I actually like the first Season, I don't really see the problem with it. I liked it from day one :D

I think the next season needs to shake it up a little though. Last season was good, but it lacked... 'something'. It had less focus.

The only thing that's been said about the next season is that the first double length episode will be set in London.
And that after that Andy won't feature much in the first 8 or so episodes, due to Pratt filming Guardians of the Galaxy.
Oh and that Henry Winkler is Jean Ralphio's dad.

There will apparently be an episode explaining how Andy has become a beefcake between this season and the last as well. Again which is all because of Guardians of the Galaxy.

    I... don't get it.

To be fair though, dancing in a supposedly humourous way has never done anything for me.

They've taken out everything that made this show good.

Even Ron Swanson can't save it now, didn't laugh during either of these last two episodes; it seems that the show dynamic has completely changed and it has lost a lot of its original appeal.

It's a shame as I used to really like this show.

This doesn't sound good - I've not seen the second half of S5 yet but it had started to drift a bit.

Chris being gone can't help matters either :(

I've not been feeling this season either to be honest. Hoping it picks up. Sad that Anne is leaving as well!

I just wish they would get the park finally, but I presume they will leave that for the last episode ever!

Anyone still watching this? I kinda like it. It is definitey getting weaker with age, a lot of the characters have become cliches of themselves but some of the characters are so good that it can get away with it.

Yeah I kinda like the goofiness of it straight away. You can tell it's a small production/cult kinda thing.
