my copy finally arrived from lik-sang yesterday evening and i have had some time with it.

all i can say is: nintendo have done it again. i thought the motion sensor was going to be a gimmick like the DS, but boy was i wrong. its fantastic.

the structure is still the same, broken into small sections with characters whom have their own 'blend' of mini games.

and they are more insane and wild than the previous one, and more fun i think.

as with the last one, i imported the Jap version so there is another element of fun trying to figure out what to do (i thought the english prompts in the euro one spoiled it).

unlike the other one, there is quite alot to unlock and most of the unlockables are there to highlight the insanity of twisting the gba 720degrees clockwise and anti-clockwise to achieve 'teh win'.

the gfx, animations and sound have all been improved, it looks and feels 'better'.

    highlight so far:

ripping plasters off and balancing an boomerang on a finger.

fun fun fun fun fun fun fun

    so far 9/10

if you have a gba and want something more interesting than a boring SNES port, i strongly advise importing this lunacy from lik-sang. (not play-asia, they are langs)

langs = langers = southern irish blanket phrase meaning not a very good/nice person.

'here boy, kmere ta me you laaaaaaaaaanger'

    'here lang! k'mere!!!!'

oh no, cunt is obiviously the strongest word you could call someone, langer is variable, it can be both soft and hard... like a penis.

also, langer is a slang word for penis too.

but back to the scheduled programming. go buy Wario Twist!

do not wait to buy it so that the game is in english.
it will spoil it for you.

'go jap early', it has a very nice box too (not that i usually care about those sort of things)

I'd love to get the jap version, but aren't there "menu" type games in this? I got the Jap original and the RPG menu choosing Boss game wasn't fun at all...

in between my 9hrs of SA, i was able to play another few minutes of 'twist', and it has the some of the best boss battles i have ever seen.

i cant describe them, because if i did it would ruin the bizare surprises.

    seriously. YOU NEED THIS GAME.

Weird. I always thought cunt relied on inflection. And that stuff like "Illiterate inbred duplicitous fucking pikey" was more insulting than cunt. :)

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

a very very strong GOTY contender. i have finally finished it, after a month of commuting and a holiday (it was an invaluable aid) and its the most constantly entertaining game i have played in a long long time.

    stand out moments:

toothpick: remove greenbeans, ice cream cones and small dogs from a persons teeth

Nostril boss: you wouldnt believe it even i described it

toast-angler-catcher: twist the bread as it goes into the toaster, catch it on the way out

syncronized swimming: the return of snot-girl

    Warioman's insanity games!

monkey tower's continual single game madness!

the unlockables, of which there are many!
the mini-games: air hockey and sheepjump. and not forgeting a great tennis game and roll-over cat with a rifle shooter!

    buy this game!

I think the word you were looking for was "Cockholders".

Nice semi-review, quite tempted to import it ....

I'm desperate to play/own both these games, but I've got a strong aversion to Japanese. I really hope that these get chucked out in English in the not-too-distant future (at the very least in the US)

They're not really text-heavy games. I haven't played either yet, mind you.. but I played the japanese version of the first one for GBA without problems -- and I don't know any written japanese. :)

The second one sounds a bit... erm...

Might have to buy this though. Looks great. Does it work with the SP?

yep. though there is probably some sort of 'gba / gba sp' switch in it, otherwise it would be upsidedown for the regular gba. :| I don't know. though I know it works for the sp, and also the ds since the cart-slot for it is in the same place.

Hrm... wait 2-3 months or buy the Jap version... at the risk of feeling compelled by that "I'm sooo close to getting the full 100% enjoyment (as opposed to 95%)" feeling to buy the English variants anyway.

    Ack. Curse you Nintendo!

tbh Destria, playing Warioware games in english spoils the experience (and im not talking about a pretentious japosexual "if its not in Jap, its crap" attitude)

eg: jap WW: the game pops up but with a japanese prompt, you have no idea of what to do and you have to work it out through trial and error. it adds a lot of longevity to the game and mucho enjoyment.

English WW: the prompt 'JUMP' pops up on the screen and you know immediately what to do. in a few hours you have completed the whole game...

i have played both and believe me, go japanese. much more fun.

my Touch! is coming from Play-Asia, those morons owe me money and i have no real NEED for it, just yet... (too many other games) so i can wait.

it works quite well in the SP, and i find i get no finger cramp due to minimal use of the buttons, its all about the twisting!

edit: Twist! works with the SP, Touch! is DS only.

well, i have a few hours into Touch and i am completely underwhelmed.

it is interesting using the stylus to, say, join 2 dots or draw a line between an apple and an orange. but 90% of the games take this route.

very very poor. the ones which differ from the 'line drawing'-mechanic are fun:

using the stylus to guide a top-down, type R-type ship through some fireballs is nice, as is the 'draw a beard on a dog game'.

the cutscenes.... they make the cutscenes in mgs2 look like the cutscenes in Pong. boring, stupid, unskippable.

well, not entirely unskipable, during the scene, power of your DS and switch it back on. you can now skip.

im only halfway through and its a 5/10. only 2% of the games use the dual screen format. and in that they only use it as a poor scenery device.

Just got Wario Ware Twisted imported from cd-wow, and I'm loving it!

I have to ask though; are there any mini-games like the 9-Volt skateboard one from the first Wario Ware game?

I ask because my brother and I are having the mother of all competitions based solely around this one minigame, with each of us trying to get the highest score.

It's been going on for well over a year now, and I currently lead with a score of 289, although my eyes were nearly bleeding in getting that score, with all the concentration.

Please someone tell me I don't have to go through a similar hell with a similar game in Twisted?!?
