That bit made me laugh out loud. I imagined the doc with his foot on Bush's neck spitting that at him...

Great article, he's an absolute legend.

Nem, I recommend "Fear and Laoathing on the Campaign Trail" which is an excellent read (even if you don't really understand US politics, which I don't)

I finished the Las Vegas one a while back. Weird. Very weird.

Yeah, that is the weirdest one he's written.

Campaign Trail is more of a journalistic style book (although I'm sure there are the usual narcotic episodes), as is Hell's Angels, also a good read

Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail so rocked, I'd love to see another Terry Gillingham/Johhny Depp film of a HST book.

    and:

    F+L in America
    Better than Sex
    Hells Angels
    Screwjack
    Songs of the Doomed
    The Great Shark Hunt
    The Rum Diary
    The Curse of Lono
    Generation of Swine
    Hey Rube

Of those, I'd recommend reading Hells Angels and GSH first, then on to the rest.

I recommend the Rum Diaries. It really does ekove the lifestyle of a hack newspaper loafer without glorifying it at all, but keeps a keen sense of pacing.
