Women shouldn't be allowed to have any say in the sale of Video Games. They don't understand the PEGI rule.

I hope Game don't freak out about this woman's supposed "celebrity" status and apologise over this. As others have pointed out, she's being an absolute hypocrite as well as embarrassingly ignorant, and they should stand their ground.

I'm usually the last person to say anything nice about Game, but they've just gone up in my estimation. Not by enough to make up for their trade-in racket, but it's a start!

I'd side with her if she had a valid arguement, but the fact is she hasn't so she can go and disappear back up her own arse.

An Oyster card does not show any proof of age on it, it would be like me trying to buy fags and booze with a permit to travel if I was 14. I'm sure she would have a proper cunt whinge if he was sold a copy of Splatter House and then went on to commit a series of rapes, whoops seems like that is a load of bullshit too (apart from her whinging of course).

I'd love EG to do a piece about this, contact her for comment, perhaps inform her of the regulations, and to also comment GAME and the BBFC.

For all the reasons to complain about GAME, she seems to have chosen a strange and completely invalid one. I have lost almost all respect for her.

I thought she was doing a decent job up until now (even if it seems like a trivial thing to get people up in arms over I do find most shop service to be shoddy) and expected something really good coming into this thread. So disappointed :( utter grasping at the straws.

Wouldn't be relevant by the time they got around to it.

I just threatened her and her kid over twitter. Thing is I know (roughly) where she lives so I threw that in to shit her up a bit.

The thing is, I can understand if she was having a little moan because this kind of thing can be a pain in the arse when you're 16/17ish. However: toys, pram, whaaaaambulance to aisle 3 etc.

EdWhiffin @queenofshops shame on game for failing to accept a non valid form of ID, following the law is clearly a sign of poor customer service.

KieranD @queenofshops An Oyster card isn't legally valid ID and the assistant would've lost their job for selling him the game. You're like a child.

How are you seeing all those? They're not showing up for me :(

Driving License/Passport excuse is pathetic when there are dedicated young persons ID cards
would think a so called queen of shops would know this.

What is the process to get an Oyster card? Unless it require proof of ID for application [passport or birth cert] then it has no security. Then there is the issue of whether the card states it is to be used as ID or not.
All of which avoids tat it is up to the retailer upon what is is or isnt valid.

…sigh, schreeching about luxury items, some people have it too easy.

Unless a form of ID has the government PASS logo on it, it can't be used as ID for the purchase of age-restricted items".

    There we go.

In my day the teen travelcard stuff needed proper proof of ID, same as anything else.

She wanted publicity and she wanted the attention. Happily the only winner here is Game.

The Oyster Card he allegedly had requires proof of age which can be (originals only):

    * Passport or ID card from a European Economic Area country
    * Birth certificate
    * Driving licence (full or provisional)

So if someone did accept it, I'd have no issue with it. But on it's own it's still not really proof of age, and I can see why a shop would reject it.

I work in Game and had a similar thing happen last week. Refused to sell a 15 rated game to a kid who looked no older than 12. Five minutes later the kid handed me his mobile and his dad was shouting at me on the other end, "He's 16, he's bought these games before, I'm his father and I'm telling you that you can sell him this game." I told him that some random person talking on the phone to me isn't actually a recognised form of ID, so I still wouldn't do it. "Well what ID can he have then??" Clearly thinking none actually existed. After I listed the three that he could quite easily be carrying with him, he hung up on me. :(
So just remember, even though Game staff can be intolerable to you guys, a good 70% of the general public I deal with are also ignorant, and unpleasant :)

Yeah, it's moronic idiots like these people that create the problem of underage kids playing these games in the first place. Double standards and typical sense of entitlement.

She is an utter bint who has absolutely no idea what it's like to work in retail. She actually seems to go out of her way to make retail workers look bad in her show by making the most ridiculous demands from staff.
