Not really worth a bump but I got my Crash Doubt Fest and Out of Spite tickets ordered this weekend! I'm set for the summer now, without a doubt :)

I may be the only person that's posted in this thread since Feb but is anyone still attending Out of Spite the weekend after next? I seem to remember a couple of interested parties.

I've not sorted a ticket or hotel yet, got loads on this month and wasn't sure I'd have the time, should have a better idea after this weekend. A bunch of friends are heading up for it though, so I'm still hoping I'll be there.

Aye, even though i know a ton of people in Leeds it's kinda difficult trying to figure out where to stay. most of my friends used to live in the centre but they're all a bit spread out now so it's proving a little more difficult than I expected. If all else fails i'll stay with Ainsley Harriott at a well known holiday inn of some sort.

I would love to be there but one of my best friends is having his wedding that weekend. Inconsiderate bastard.

Please do! I've just been looking at the line-up and I'd forgotten that The Horror and Imbalance were playing. I want to cry.

No idea if I can link to Facebook albums but here are some photos from Imbalance playing(that i didn't take) and one video.

Amazing weekend though. It was like being at a Grimsby Town away game with all the football chants inbetween songs. Imbalance and Leatherface were the highlights of my weekend but most of the bands were awesome. Great turnout and brilliant to see a lot of Grimsby folk making the trip down. Ended up leaving early-ish on the Sunday as I was pretty pooped by then and didn't have a place to stay. Really hope they try and do the same thing next year. The Well most have done okay from the whole weekend without a doubt.

So Braid are playing Frame and Canvas in London in July and now Texas is the Reason are playing their last dates ever in the UK at the beginning of August. 2013 is the year that prehistoric emo comes back to Britain.

Seeing both of these bands in 2013 seems a bit weird, but I don't think I can resist Texas is the Reason.

Woah, didn't know Texas is the Reason were getting back together, can't miss that one. Apparently I saw them once before with Samiam, but I must've been slaughtered as I don't remember a thing about it.

That tour was a little before my time, but people who I've spoken to who were there have all said that Texas is the Reason were shite, so perhaps being slaughtered was the best option :D

Either way we get to see them in their dad-guises now.

Hope Braid announce some more dates, preferably a bit further North.

I'm still treating this as the good emo bands thread.

    Criminally underrated band.

I always though that Life At These Speeds did the DC-ish octaves thing really well. I saw them once and they were dead fucking good. I really should listen to Crash of Rhinos properly. It's ex-Little Explorer folks isn't it?

So, did anyone make it to the Braid show? How were they?

Seeing Texas is the Reason tomorrow, which I'm rather looking forward to. Anyone else going?

Wish i'd seen Life at These Speeds. Still love them now.

I think there's at least a few Little Explorer ex-members in there somewhere. New album has just come out i think too. I believe it's up on Spotify now.

Annoyingly i've missed all the good gigs of the summer. Missed Lemuria coming over aswell as Texas is the Reason and Out of Spite in Leeds this weekend. Hate having no money for fun.

(I figured this was our only emo thread on EG)

I've been bringing in the new year listening to Hey Mercedes. This was a brilliant decision. Hoping plenty of other emo bands make a comeback in 2014.

Yeah! I'm so glad I got to see Texas is the Reason when they came over last year. I went to the rock club in Lincoln and had to listen to some nu-metal. No emo for me :(

Any of you guys listening to Their/They're/There?

Polyvinyl "supergroup" with Mike Kinsella (Owen, American Football, Owls etc) on drums, chap out of Into It, Over It on vocals and another lad who escapes me at this second.

Just two EPs so far, pretty good though.

Also LOVE that Hey Mercedes track. Not heard that in years.

I've not got around to listening to Their/They're/There yet. There are too many Kinsella bands: I'm yet to listen to Friend/Enemy.

On a related note the new Owls tracks is pretty damn good.

So, American Football are doing some gigs, Mineral are doing some gigs. I wonder if either of them will make it over here? I expect American Football could make a little bit of money with a carefully planned European tour. It's crazy how much the kids love 'em.

I hope so! I notice that they added some dates after the demand for the two shows they had planned. Hopefully they'll think about a Euro tour.

They're pretty 'massive' for the sort of band they are. I have to confess that I would much rather see Mineral live than American Football, although obviously I'll go if they come anywhere nearby. Did you get the reissue Bill?
