Given he never said anything of the sort I'd say that he'd probably be right if he did.

Is IRT still going on about how he hates blacks, A-rabs and any sort of Johnny foreigner that doesn't speak English at all times?

Dunno, he was around for a while before he started expressing the sort of views he's been expressing in this thread to my knowledge.

I didn't read everything he wrote, but while he seemed misinformed with some preconceived ideas, I didn't notice any strongly racist or homophobic coments. Just didn't really understand the EU or immigration.

Needed to check his sarcasm indicator. :)

Yup. As the child of an immigrant, ignorance of the sort displayed by IRT tends to get under my skin.

(Irony is, both my father and I are / were job creators)

I think ignorance is the key word in this, I don't think he was malicious or particularly racist. It is a strange emoquit, perhaps he felt that he was being ganged up on, which I don't think ia necessarily true, there were some hostile words said but I don't recall reading anything too blatantly offensive passed the standard level of meanness on EG.

I prefer malicious. It's far less insidious.

IRT has never hired anyone, I guess. I know plenty of people who have desperately looked for people here but just can't find them. They've even paid for them to move here or exempted them proper security checks because no one else is around. Hell, even in my job as a bloody English teacher we struggle and have to look to other nationals.

There are jobs people here can't or won't do. It's simple. We have a strong economy, with business craving for a talented, world leading workforce and people currently here can't fulfill that.
Absolutely 100% totally agree we have the same problem in Ireland. Actively recruiting for experienced engineers (software) but we cannot hire them from anywhere on these islands. Been the same way for years.

BTW if anybody knows of any kickass realtime C++ or Erlang engineers PM me ;)

He's the guy that genuinely thinks it's extremely rude for people to speak together in a foreign language when in the UK.

Wonder when in history he decided to draw that line? Given the countless groups with different languages that have ruled all over this island, not mention us having more regional accents than any other country, many not so easy to understand.

On the plus side, it would mean Jamie Carragher would never be able to speak again.

I can't wait to see how the numbers have been spun again.

I do so love how everyone they "encouraged" (reduced financial assistance) to go self employed now counts as in full time work. Impressive.

The way unemployment figures are calculated has changed, on average every, 1.6 years. Oddly enough each new method always revises it downwards.

Hopefully we'll see some measure to help the true pillars of our society...childless professional couples in their 20s/30s.

    /Fingers crossed

I think not, I'm off to collect my Chromecast. Doing my bit for the economy by spending money on an American designed product, probably manufactured in China.

According to Osbourne we have 2.7% growth.
A higher employment rate than the U.S.A
The IMF has stated that the UK has the most robust economy in the developed world for tackling its national debt.
Numbers of registered tax havens has reduced by half.

More cuts are still needed to ensure that the recovery continues.

There you go, there's the biggie - 40p tax threshold raised, by a small amount, but still.
