How much do fat people drive the economy? Surely all that eating creates jobs in McDonald's and such?
  • Deleted user 3 January 2013 14:47:38
Maybe the incentive for them not being fat could be that they can breathe after walking 10 metres, not be sweaty and smelly and they live past the age of 55 without regular heart attacks?

Fucking ridiculous. This really isn't going to happen.
Yup. Even if it can be made it work (which I can't see) it won't achieve what it sets out to do.

Post edit: why not make government gyms part of the NHS budget, not free but subsidised?

You'll never get elected if you keep spouting common sense ideas.
The Tories weren't elected though, were they. They formed a coalition government, and assumed power.

Couldn't they be forced to walk up hills and then rolled down them, connected to a dynamo to produce some electricity?

I'm willing to force ID cards on fat people.

Though using your eyes is a good way of judging things.

Or just have it like selling alcohol to minors. Too fat and the supermarket and McDonalds refuses to sell you crap.

Tie it into food stamps. Want your food? Do your gym time.
  • Deleted user 3 January 2013 14:59:25
I don't want them in my gym. I like the slim tight girls arses that are there now. I don't want to then have to look over and see a pile of cottage cheese engulfing the bikes as it sits down.

Yeah. Massive fine for selling such food to the overweight.

I could make a killing buying it for them.

Special gym for fatties. Although that reduces the incentives of going to the gym.

Not that I go to the gym for the hot ladies, but they are there :)

    Yeah moving on.

Tax on fatty foods didn't work in Denmark.

Force it by making that gap at the tills too narrow for weebles to get through.

I can just imagine it; instead of spotty teenagers asking you to buy them cigarettes from the newsagents, you'll be stopped by middle aged fatties outside Greggs asking you to buy them a four pack of sausage rolls.

That would work in the US. Over here we try not to shame our most needy.

    Apart from Deckard.
Shame might be a good incentive.

Yeah but this is different. Fatties aren't always impoverished. Fatty food is not a requirement for them living well.

If they had to give out these stamps in order to eat fast food and they only received the stamps after X hours of exercise you have an incentive.

However it'd be hell to enforce. Why wouldn't kebabydaby sell to fatty?

Massive fines if they were caught selling to fatties. What is a fatty? Someone outside the healthy BMI zone.

What about those that are big due to muscle and BMI isn't accurate, waiver pass.

Fuck BMI, get everyone on those bioelectrical impedance scales. They're not perfect, but they're a damn sight better than BMI.

Food stamps are functionally useful but really unpleasant and counterproductive. Often what the genuinely impoverished need to get themselves off the bottom rung involves self belief and self esteem. Putting a big fat 'I'm on benefits' label on them whenever they go shopping is a hell of a headwind.
They wouldn't be fat for long and they can have a free balloon to cheer them up for every stone they lose.
