The car handling seems a bit bad though.

So... Pre-order DLC... Not sure which to go for. Here in SA I only have 2 options. One comes with just the Martial Arts pack, and the other comes with both the GSP pack and the Police Protection Pack.

I think I will quickly get over the handling once I start playing the game, the hand to hand and shooting looks good so I'm looking forward to getting into a fight and the game world looks interesting enough.
Only thing I'm wondering about is the texture pop-ins, there were a few massive ones in that giant bomb preview, but it wont stop me from buying the game. I've been looking forward to this game since it was True Crime.

I'd go for the GSP+Police package, the Martial Arts DLC will be available at some point in the future to buy standalone. I Mean I hope it will - it's not available as a Limited Edition incentive over here in the UK.XBL: rolemodel86 PSN: Syrette86

Registered 10 years agoThat footage is on the previous page of this thread, it's Gamespot's Comic Con demo.
Looks like the uploader 'stole' the footage from Gamespot's channel, edited out any non-gameplay sections (which isn't a bad thing you might say!) and anything pertaining to Gamespot, and then decided not to credit Gamespot in any way. Nice.
Nothing wrong with posting it again though. It's good stuff.

That's the overriding impression that I'm getting. Fine, it's demo code etc, but I can't help but think there's going to be a lot of frustration come release, as a lot of the vids have terrible issues.
Lots of nice touches, good design, the blood splattered clothes, the story, but add in the wonky, wooly handling, the stilted combat, and that sub-par GTA feel, and it's not for me unless it's cheap during a dry spell. You can read this ? You've helped ruin the place.

To be fair that summary could have been written for the Saints Row series, and I have to say few if any series (in the same genre) of games have given me so much big dumb fun on the 360.

Why don't you wait till sites have review code/people have their own copies of the retail code?
Big games (in terms of size and scale as well as overall content) like this are going to have bugs and glitches, but as you know the time for the major ones to be eliminated is right at the end of development, not so much during, hence problems with demo code.

As for the car handling criticisms I have no idea how people are deciding the handling is bad going just on video's. I always need to play a game personally to determined what the car handling is like. It certainly looks Ok to me for the type of game from what they have shown off so far. -

i guess i'll have ot wait and see - the game looks like it could be great as a whole -

Yeah, the handling does look balls. There doesn't seem to be any weight to the cars at all.
On the plus side, I'm a complete sucker for shonky open world games. -
