Registered 5 years agoit was 3rd time lucky for me, on my first test I got a major for speeding !!
2nd test I just shit myself & just did not do well overall. 3rd test all good...only 3 minors.

I passed first time but I thought I had failed about 15 mins in as I was getting everything wrong. Or at least I thought I was.
People say that would help you relax more if you think you have already passed but it had the opposite effect to me.
Was as worrying as when I just realised I have been driving for 10 years now. I nkow there are people here that have been driving longer than that but for me it's worrying becuase that would mean I'm meant to be some kind of adult. -

Registered 6 years agoI passed my test this morning with 1 minor! Third time lucky (well I had 3 when I was 17 but I'm not counting those
).
I'm 25 in August and one of the last people I know to pass, so happy, even with insurance companies bumming me on quotes! -

Registered 6 years agoHi guys, just have a quick question if anyone knows. I'm about to take my theory test, and having been using the "Driving Test Success" disc, but it's an 07/08 edition. Will the same questions still come up in my actual theory test now it's 2011 or should i buy the latest disc? (My instructor gave me the 07/08 edition, so i assumed it would be the same questions) Cheers! -

Registered 6 years agoAfter 40 lessons, a failed test and an expired theory test between 2005 and 2007 I have decided to go for it again! Theory test is booked for February and this time I'm off on an intensive 5 day course in Wales, hopefully in an automatic.
I don't care if I have an automatic licence at least I will be able to get my independence and blow my job options wide open! Excited about it now.
edit: I feel I missed out on a £40k job recently because of a lack of licence. That was kind of the kick up the arse I needed.

I'm more than willing to accept I will never be able to pass in a manual. It's irrelevant really, I just need to drive.

Registered 10 years agoWhy never? Seems a bit extreme after a relatively modest amount of lessons and just one failed test. If you'd failed 8/9 times then I could see your point but seems like a bit of an over-reaction.... -

I know what I can do and can't do. You wouldn't believe how bad I am at manual controls. Even on my test day I was still struggling with it. It's too much to concentrate on all at once. Automatic will do me just fine.

Registered 11 years agoLearn to drive with an automatic. Then once you have confidence and comfort driving a car on a road you can learn how to use a manual, at least competently for if the need should ever arrive. -
